So it looks like this will be their first Oricon #1 and their first RIAJ Gold Record at the same time.

Excellent first day, yeah. They've already left the TOTAL sales of their previous single in the dust. I was initially wary of adding newbies, but they've really revived interest in the group big time.

I predict that they'll do something with her in the next year or so. The only girl in the KSS era they made wait over 5 years to hear about a debut is Kirara and I suspect the KSS unit came into existence to prevent her from quitting to begin with. TPTB seem to understand that you can only stretch a kid's patience so far.

I can totally hear the Butterfly. On the whole, it's giving me Berryz circa 2008 vibes. Expecting a wacky video.

I can understand the appeal of keeping an already established brand going from the company's perspective, but I'll miss new groups if they all go rotational. And it's totally cynical, but I agree this probably indicates more graduations from both groups this year.
