In Topic: H!O Tracker closure let's talk about alternatives.

An own idol tracker like this would be great
However it is absolutely useless to even think about it unless someone with the knowledge how to do this properly volunteers.
Period
And you still would have a certain amount of costs paying the server etc,
Right now everyone will say we'll contribute but let's be honest... in a year or two the people managing it will be begging for donations

I for one would opt for nyaa
But why not use JPS as well.
All we would need is a good (and organized place) where uploads could be announced

As someone with knowledge of the 'backend' such as the databases and websites etc, and I know others have already commented, the cost of running the basic system is not really that high.

A forum with 1 thread per torrent and a subforum for each category can be used as a replacement.
The forum search would lookup the torrents.
This is something I've seen in other places, it works well enough and its quick to setup.

A tracker is needed to properly track ratios and the like.

And since you mentioned volunteering...

I know how to setup the server etc but I don't know who to talk to.

I don't want this to die out just like that since its honestly the only place i know with a dedicated community.

Sorry if I'm not following the conversation well. If a clone site to H!O is the ideal because of the niche of the tracker, wouldn't the index be the most important part? The system has two parts, one being the tracker and the second being the index to the files, which is what this site and the search function are. The index contains all the file names and hashes that the bittorrent clients need to operate. One could technically run trackerless site using only the DHT protocol. I don't think the monetary cost of running the index would be too high but I don't really know.

lol! ofcourse it is :D.  That is why I gave up in knowing the orginal show. it was probably recorded by someone in japan and would not be in the internet then.  Those "irunda" videos seem to be have been made loooooong ago by the same person and they look very home made.

Again Ares, Thank you for your dedication.  I really enjoyed reading the posts here :).

I just noticed I can save some g+ posts with firefox in a way that reopening them does not require contacting google(It didn't used to work for me due to javascript). I'm going to see if I can save posts and not only the pictures.  Sadly hers was taken down :(.

I remember when kuwabara mizuki was graduating that I saved as many pages I could as pictures and they were too long so I had to assemble them manually but the next day the blog was gone :(. What a heart break that hey do that.

Good luck to you(and her).
