About Me

Hi! I've been here for a number of years and have done nothing with my account. I figured I ought to change that.

I'm 27 and I teach preschool in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan. (I'm halfway between Osaka and Kobe.) I moved here in October, 2011, and plan to stay at least two years (for my contract) but I'd like to make this move permanent. Considering the stuff I have, it might be hard to move back to the US.

I speak English, Spanish and Japanese (though not very well, the Japanese), and I've been translating since 2005. I've worked on various drama subbing groups, most related to Johnny's Jimusho. I'm currently in teams subbing Love Game and Lucky Seven, as of Jan. 2012.

My favorite era of Hello! Project is 1997 to 2005, the era of Iida Kaori in Morning Musume. I have kept up with the group (and to a lesser degree, Berryz Koubou and C-ute) since her graduation. I remember the shuffle groups fondly, and Heike Michiyo, Maeda Yuki, Taiyou to Ciscomoon, and Sheki-dol are my favorites. (Also, pre-5th-gen Morning Musume, if you wondered.)

My current favorite members of Hello! Project are Niigaki Risa, MItsui Aika, Fukimura Mizuki, Ikuta Erina, Suzuki Kanon, and Iikubo Haruna from Morning Musume, Shimizu Saki, Tokunaga Chinami, Sudo Maasa, and Kumai Yurina of Berryz Koubou (Maiha holds a special place in my heart!), Nakajima Saki and Okai Chisato of C-ute (I miss Murakami, Umeda and Arihara!), and I'm starting to listen to Mano Erina and S/mileage more, so I've not an opinion yet on them.

Part of UFA, but not in Hello! Project properly, I am a HUGE fan of Kikkawa Yuu. :)

Overall, favorite groups/soloists past and present, no order: Morning Musume, Sheki-dol, Taiyou to Ciscomoon, Melon Kinenbi, Tanpopo, Pucchimoni, Goumattou, Fujimoto Miki, Nakazawa Yuuko, Maeda Yuki, Iida Kaori, Heiki Michiyo, Miyoshi Chinatsu, Country Musume, Coconuts Musume, and Ongaku Gatas.

Interesting facts about my fandom: I have a ridiculous amount of photobooks of Hello! Project/Morning Musume through 2003; my favorite H!P songs are 'scene' by Heike Michiyo, 'Eureeka no Kaze' by Iida Kaori, 'Ihoujin' by Yasuda Kei, 'Ai no Imi wo Oshiete' by W, and 'Nani ga Ai ka Wakaranai Kedo...' by Country Musume ni Konno to Fujimoto; with the exception of the 2005 disc, I own all the shuffle unit CDs; and my most treasured CD to own is probably Tanpopo 1.
