What happens during a debut Make-Over?

30 April 2021 - 09:49 PM

When idols are in auditions, or Kenshuusei, or off the street, they often look like very regular people.

However, after they debut they go through a transformation that makes them look like an idol. What is that process?

Is it just a haircut? Is it different use of make up? Is it the clothing? Is there just an "idol aesthetic?" I am interested in understanding how they make regular girls look like idol girls.

I am an aspiring idol producer and I am wanting to know for my own personal reasons. Plus I am constantly mystified by the difference between girls in the kenshuusei, before and after they debut. I think its amazing.

Am I just imagining things, or is there a standard treatment that is done to idols to transition them from regular girls to idols?

American Chika Idol Scene

05 June 2019 - 05:17 PM

America has Idols that cover Japanese Idols (3d and 2d). I enjoy supporting that community. I wanted to make this thread if there were any other people who wished to share information on Lives and events revolving around American Chika Idols.

I only really know about two scenes, Florida and Texas. As I find events involving American Chika Idols, I may post it in this thread. Please if you know of any events, please post it in this thread as well.

Alom is a new group (started last year in 2018) that so far is being produced by Tsunku.

The group is made of of the two members Terada Minami (25) and Komuro Sayaka (23).

Minami's hips don't lie...

Spoiler

alom(アロム)is a word with a double meaning. One, A Lot Of Music. Two, a dutch word meaning anywhere. Avex lists their style as a Technopop Unit (in the Summer Zombie description on CD Japan at least), which immediately conjures the thoughts of YMO, and YMO they are not, but whatever it is, I like it. So they are not idols, just hot ladies.

As one might expect the two girls (currently singing Anime songs) were singing anime songs by themselves, before teaming up. Both are singer songwriters. At least before Alom.

Intro to Idols Video (Feedback Requested)

09 January 2019 - 02:55 PM

Edit: The video was hit for copyright, its down. Sorry for those who clicked in this thread.

Edit2: I got a partial recording of the presentation. So I uploaded it here, just so I could get feedback. I got a lot of feedback from the person who recorded this and I know how I will change somethings in the future. But she was no idol fan, I would like feedback from idol fans.

__________________________________________

Hey guys I made a video to present at my local anime convention. I am trying to help people more familiar with anime to understand and appreciate idol culture. I also hoped that for those who know nothing about idols could observe a lot of the visual and audio tropes for idols. I set out to make a video that a person could watch and walk away knowing mainstream idols, hear idol performance, and hear fan calls.

I am not sure how well I conveyed my points. I know its lacks character, but I want to make sure the information is good before I start making it more "exciting." I want feedback, any feedback, feel free to be brutally honest. But please only offer constructive criticism. If you dislike something in my video, please tell me how to fix it. Is the video interesting at all? Is it too long? Did I miss any major parts of "idol culture?"
