Up-Front's apparently picked up their advertising game. Been seeing comments from multiple MVs saying they came after seeing ads for them on Youtube, Instagram, and a Lawson's convenience store. I don't remember seeing these kinds of comments before lol.

I'm glad they are finally trying something new things to try to attract eyes on the product.

That's great, they are taken the digital promotion more serious, it seems. I don't mind if they make the groups to release just A-side if that means having more releases for more promotions.

@Kinjiru I also heard H!P songs in different places in JP many times near the release dates, e.g. Matsuya, Sukiya, shopping mall, Shibuya Center-gai ...

Is Up-Front a private company?

To further clarify, a KK can be either public or private, but is more accurately just a corporation, as we would know them. It used to be listed as a type of limited liability, but the official listing was abolished in 2006. I've not since seen any official listings that would imply UF isn't still private though, and it still uses "Co., Ltd." in translations.

I'm often so impressed about how knowledgable some in the fandom are about non-art related UF things!

Well this was an interesting discovery. For anyone that knows about Kemono Friends, I just found out that the animation studio, Yaoyorozu, is actually a part of Just Production, which is a subsidiary of Up-Front.

You know the "missing songs on iTunes" problem has gotten really bad when even iTunes Japan is starting to have missing songs. Y Jiro no Tochuu is missing in iTunes Japan. It was apparently on there before but it got removed.

I always thought it had to do with who wrote/arranged/composed the song or the connection to an anime or drama? In this case it's a drama. Idk lol

    Prob a licensing/royalty issue.

While the songs are performed by their artist, the songs themselves are owned by respective composer (or lyricist), therefore they can't publish them freely.

↑All in all just a guess but ya

Idols have been dropping left right and center this year, meanwhile Up-Front: OKAY 4 NEW GROUPS (if you count College Cosmos)

Yeah but that's normal isn't it? When there are more groups and idols than ever there'll be more graduation than ever. I don't really see unbelievably high numbers here idk

It's just the combination of it all. Even if a lot of the groups weren't exceptionally popular, they've been around for years, and they weren't completely unknown, and yet now it feels like a bunch of them have decided that this year in particular was a good time to disband. And you have members suddenly leaving from groups that don't normally do graduations. It feels a lot higher to me this year.

I agree with Ich, it's the usual normal idol cycle. It's just the departures are higher profile.
