Hello Project Discord Chat!

29 November 2016 - 12:16 AM

Hi! I have created a chatroom for discussing Hello! Project using Discord. Discord is a chatroom client that can be accessed via their desktop program and mobile app, and even by internet browser. You can register for an account here and download/access the browser version here. It's currently pretty small, but we have a good group of active members so far and it's a nice chill place to talk about what's going on in H!P. Hope to see some of you there!

(Staff, if posting this wasn't ok then sorry! I couldn't find any rules against it. I'm not profiting off the chatroom, and I'm not intending to compete with H!O in any way.)

EDIT: Probably should've put the link to the actual room. Here you go.

Is the H!O tracker safe from CAS?

I'm assuming we're safe because just about all of these are American companies and I'm fairly certain H!O is a private tracker that they would not be checking. Can anyone else confirm this though?

Recent developments suggest that TMS0 might not have the same lineup we originally thought, I'll edit this post as more information is confirmed.

The release date is December 5.

I've compiled a Youtube Playlist with all the songs in Petit Best 13, except TMS0. Happy listening!

What do you do with your First Press posters?

10 August 2012 - 08:34 PM

I have a bunch of posters sitting around from First Press Editions of various singles. I want to put them up in my room but I'm really worried about damaging them with putty or thumb tacks and I also don't want to put forth the money to frame all of them (and I don't really want to deal with family and friends asking me why I have a bunch of framed pictures of teenage Japanese girls in short skirts on my wall). Have any of your guys found a good way to display your posters or do you just let them sit around like I do?

Morning Musume's Great 9-nin Lineups

29 September 2011 - 04:40 AM

Something I've noticed recently is that a lot of Morning Musume's most memorable lineups have had nine members. The latest one, which has lasted through most of 2011, is about to come to an end (in about 5-6 hours from the creation of this topic, to be exact) with the entrance of 10th gen and Aichan's graduation, so I decided to make a thread to honor it and other great 9-nin lineups.

Here's a brief description for each-

Golden Era
2001
Kaori Iida, Natsumi Abe, Kei Yasuda, Mari Yaguchi, Maki Goto, Rika Ishikawa, Hitomi Yoshizawa, Nozomi Tsuji, Ai Kago

One of Morning Musume's most famous lineups. One of the reasons this lineup was so well loved was that everyone had a role in the group- even if they were more in the back and didn't get many lines, they still had some sort of niche that made them well-known (such as Nono as the perfect companion to Aibon or Kaorin as the leader). This lineup was only there for one single (The Peace!), but it was one of the group's best singles.

Sexy 8
2007
Hitomi Yoshizawa, Ai Takahashi, Risa Niigaki, Miki Fujimoto, Eri Kamei, Sayumi Michishige, Reina Tanaka, Koharu Kusumi, Aika Mitsui

This was the lineup for Egao Yes Nude and Kanashimi Twilight (as well as the eighth album), right between Mittsi's entrance and Yossie's graduation. Perhaps not as legendary as Golden Era, but still a nice balance of looks, personality, and talent. One of my personal favorite lineups.

Platinum 9
2007-2009
Ai Takahashi, Risa Niigaki, Eri Kamei, Sayumi Michishige, Reina Tanaka, Koharu Kusumi, Aiki Mitsui, JunJun, LinLin

Notable for being Morning Musume's most stable lineup- it lasted nearly two and a half years, much longer than any other lineup in the group's history. This was the lineup for all singles between Onna ni Sachi Are and Kimagure Princess. Sometimes a tad controversial due to the sudden change in tone for singles during this time and the unusual imbalance of focus on members- even so, some great songs were released during this time and it was certainly an important era for the group.

Enter 9th Generation
Ai Takahashi, Risa Niigaki, Sayumi Michishige, Reina Tanaka, Aika Mitsui, Mizuki Fukumura, Erina Ikuta, Riho Sayashi, Kanon Suzuki

The stability of Platinum 9 ended with Koharu's graduation- this, along with the notorious triple grad of Eri, JunJun, and LinLin solidified the need for a long-awaited ninth generation audition. The addition of 9th gen has added some interesting new dynamics to the group- Riho has been featured prominently in all singles since she joined, and the sudden injection of youth into Morning Musume has made for an interesting new energy in songs and performances. This lineup was truly the beginning of a new era.

In this thread, discuss anything related to these lineups, pick a favorite, and share favorite memories of each (particularly the current one, as this thread is partially meant to commemorate it). Also feel free to speculate on why 9 has always been such a magical number for the group, and if you think it will see a comeback in the near future. Please be polite and respect each others' opinions~
