At least SCANDAL writes their own songs. There really aren't a lot of J-rock girl bands. SCANDAL is pretty much the only one to play Rock-Pop songs, not just Pop songs(like let's say Stereopony). Also their vocals are one of the best and even better than some of the artists that are popular nowadays.

There's no use to say "SCANDAL is actually the best still active Japanese girl rock band" when you obviously ignore all of amazing talents Japan can count.

I'm curious to know what groups you consider as "still active Japanese girl rock band".
In my opinion, a band (in any music genre) have to be able to compose well writted music. Scandal lacks of writting skills, banality is the much appropriate term to designate their compositions, and i even not talk about the vocals.
