I come bearing the summary and breakdown of the characters now that I know which part they're adapting!
Summary:
On the planet Alpha, it was a peaceful place where strife does not exist. One day, the king and queen received a prophecy to betroth their daughter to someone, whose identity they kept secret from their daughter. This is the story of Princess Sakura, her childhood friend Asada, and Lieutenant Kiri who came from a war-torn planet. Their complicated feelings intertwine, until the fated day arrives...
Known roles (I know because I read the manga and what they're wearing totally gives it away):
Ayumi - Princess Sakura
Duu - Asada
Riho - Lieutenantl Kiri
Some background without TOO many spoilers:
Asada's people (from planet Omega) have the power to control electricity, which allows them to handle the electric jellyfish of planet Alpha without harm to themselves or those in physical contact with them.
Princess Sakura is close friends with Asada, and often uses his ability to manipulate electricity in order to play with the jellyfish. She is totally crushing on him.
Kiri is cold to EVERYONE, partly because no one wants to talk to him for fear of him reading their minds, which is a trait of his people from planet Vita. His people is known to be violent and constantly at war. and he is the only one of his kind to walk away from that life to seek refuge in the peace of planet Alpha.
Princess Sakura's maid is named Rosewood (no idea who will play her), and is also from planet Omega.
Planet Alpha appears to be a place where people from all over the galaxy migrate to if they seek peace. It is a place of harmony.

I hope the maid is Oda, because I want her to cockblock Ayumi.
I wonder how they're going to pad out the musical with only 60 pages of manga source material.
Now I want to write fanfic again.
