I understand where your coming from, since i thought that at first too. But after reading interviews and other stuff and how they interact backstage/front stage.... I would say they have a bond where words/actions are not neccessary, Its like they understand each other beyond the need to publicize it.
When i see how they interact with each other i can tell that they're more than co-workers. Its like their body language tells you that they trust each other and feels comfortable being with each other. Like on one of the backstage of one of the concerts when takagaki were sitting on each other and hitting each others heads . Or when they were on the radio together and the way niigaki looked into aichans eyes nd aichan staring right back (in japanese culture the girls usually dont stare so intently into another persons eyes). Or when i see them on tv shows with other people, and how their body langauge shows that "i feel comfortable with this person" their body just kinda faces towards that person.
I feel that they have a bond thats deeper than all the other members.
As for Aika, I guess they hang out alot and according to ai-chans blog they talk and discuss about alot of things. I think its because they're at the stage of building a better understanding of each other (which takes years). But as for Gakisan i think they already understand each other in a way that they dont need to explain their thoughts to one another. Like in an interview where they said that they felt most comfortable with each other than they do with other members. I guess its like aika/other members are like friends or like going out to play but gakisan is like home, a place that she can relax and keep private.

Im loving Ai-chans hair its so kakoi, Kinda reminds me of G-Dragons hair back in his "hearbreaker" days. I have come to a conclusion that i am gonna go cut it Ai-chan style....right now WOOT!!!!!(but going blonde is a diff story....)
