When Maa says her line she sort of clings to Duu and seems to look into her eyes, and it looks like she's the saying the line at her. I saw video of it on Twitter... think it's from Houston

Satou IS one of the most common surnames in Japan, but I guess being from the same area makes it more likely.

^ She's also good at singing and dancing and acrobatics? There's a lot of potential to be worked on there. The english always sounds awkward and then it makes the entire situation awkward because the other members don't know what she said and then she has to explain it all over again in japanese and this whole pattern just repeats again and again and again...

Her speaking english is of interest to international fans when it comes to communicating with her - if MM is having concerts overseas, if they're shaking hands with her and can actually talk with her, if they feel like they can leave english comments on her blog and know she'll understand them (though I'm not sure english comments go through the ameblo comment monitoring?). Her saying random phrases in english in random places isn't really interesting or useful at all. And for japanese fans it's probably also just awkward - the biggest effect is the "wow, that pronounciation sounds fancy, impressive" but it gets old if she just uses it over and over again. It'd be better put to use by, say, MM going on quiz shows or did an intelligence test, and Miki showing off how "smart" she is by getting all the english questions right (and there'd be variety value in showing the contrast between her correct answers and what the others answered). There are ways to make use of it, but just spouting random english is clumsy and not well thought out.

On Maa's singing, she says herself that she has a hard time with it. Especially in live performances, apparently her throat constricts (probably because of nervousness) and then not only does the sound not come out right, it also forces and harms her throat, which makes her lose her voice frequently during tours (like we saw in GRADATION). I think she has a beautiful voice and her knowledge of music theory probably helps with things like pitch, but she has a lot to improve when it comes to technique and really using her throat / projecting her voice. Or that's what I've understood, I don't know enough about the technicalities of singing to make indepth analysis lol.
