^^^
Been on and off the guitar since highschool (that's... 10 years ago?) - take it from me, if you want to play it, play it 100%.
I don't think I've improved much since 10 years ago because of this half-assed way of playing.
Also I know heaps of godly guitarists are self-taught, but back then there were no Youtube, no Twitter, no Internet... and that means less temptations / distractions. Take a lesson - it will do you good if you want to become better.
While I'm here, might as well do a shameless plug
This is my band, Anti-Social Yakisoba doing Rurouni Kenshin's OST ( by Siam Shade ) - Sanbun no Ichi Junjou na Kanjou
Thanks for the advice. I think I may take lessons in a few years (once I get money lol) since I haven't done anything musically for a while.
How long did it take you to move from acoustic playing to electric, or did you just start on electric?

Debating between restarting piano or doing guitar.
I have a guitar (not sure if it is good) and I feel that it would be more interesting, albeit a bit more challenging.
I don't have a piano of my own, but my parents own either a baby grand/grand.
I don't any money or time at the moment, but I hope to pick up either one or even both in the next few years.
