In Topic: [9/4] ℃-ute 8th album "Queen of J-POP"

10 September 2013 - 04:39 PM

Translations, in case anyone wants 'em. :)

1.) Bagel ni Ham & Cheese

2.) Namida mo Denai  Kanashiku mo nai  Nannimo Shitakunai

3.) Kanashiki Amefuri
4.) Tadoritsuita Onna Senshi
5.) Crazy Kanzen na Otona
6.) Nichiyoubi wa Daisuki
7.) Abiru Hodo no Ai wo Kudasai
8.) Aitai Aitai Aitai na
9.) Adam to Eve no Dilemma
10.) Watashi ga Honki wo Dasu Yoru
11.) Kono Machi

I know people have been disappointed on the music side of the album, but it's a pretty good album concept-wise, as far as I'm concerned. Each song fits the girl that leads it well. Tadoritsuita Onna Senshi is kind of really, really touching when you take into account what the girls have given up and endured to get the chance to be where they are.

I tried my hand at translating three of the four b-sides. :D Here's links if anybody wants 'em:

A B C D E-cha E-cha Shitai

Tokimeku Tokimeke

Rock no Teigi

Also, I learned all my Japanese by textbook, so a quick question: why does "icha icha" translate into "flirting"? In my neck of the woods, "flirting" generally means coy looks, light banter, etc. It's usually done between two people who are single and the most it extends to is brief touching, sitting close, etc.  From what I've seen (even outside of Tsunku lyrics), "icha icha" seems like it's done by established couples and I'd say it goes one step further, more like PDA. That's not to say "icha icha" is immediately "making out", but translating it as "flirting" just seems weird to me.

Granted, my Japanese isn't all there (and I'm obviously lacking in first-hand language experience), so if anyone can explain, that would be super helpful. :D

Usually don't post links to b-side translations here, but I thought Watashi wa Tensai's lyrics were pretty interesting this time around.

One part that stood out:

Nakky: 唇も才能よ ("My lips are a talent all on their own.")

Maimai: エクボもね この声も ("So are my dimples and this voice.")

As a Maimai/Nakky fan, I loled quite a bit.

There's also a bit where they tell potential rivals that they're way too early to challenge them. Really neat lyrics, although the melody's a little blander than I personally like. Combined with Momusu's "three good things happened to me", maybe this is the start of Tsunku going meta in his lyrics? :P

Also, before I forget: congrats to the girls for the sales so far! <3

@MejraThea
Here's the romaji of what I'm hearing:

Spoiler

Basically the same lyrics as jinqin123 and Chobineko posted earlier using the fuzzy concert mic rip on page 8 of this thread, with two words changed ("chikyuu"-->"jikyuu" and "nasubi"-->"ga suki").

Edit: Whoops, forgot to erase the "k" from chikyuu when I changed the "ch" to "j". "Jiyuu" is correct, my bad. ^^;
