I thought this unit might be one of Kago's random, impulsive, grab an opportunity when it arises ideas, but 2ch found a quote from her blog last year where, in response to a question about what her dream was, Kago said something like "Honestly, I want to create a unit and sing! lol " so at least she has been planning it for a while. She probably feels like she has some unfinished business left in the idol world.

If one is going to be honest, there are certain members of Morning Musume that if the plan was for them to train a new group of idols, they have track records that would make them trustworthy.

 

Nakazawa Yuko, Yaguchi Mari, Yoshizawa Hitomi, Takahashi Ai,  Michishige Sayumi (if announced as her post-graduation plan). Even Kusumi Koharu. But Kago?...

 

The project has not a single name of any experienced, trustworthy manager, producer, choreographer, song writer, director or even costume designer attached to it. Instead they intend to do cover songs and have costumes donated.

 

The auditions are blatantly slanted towards getting girls with sex appeal and little embarrassment and shame  given that a third of it is based on how they look nearly nude and possibly also based on what sort of dancing is being voted for.

 

And the real kicker is that the project is most likely being funded and controlled by a 50-year old sleazy playboy with plenty of money to buy people and likes his women comparatively really, really young.

 

If you had a daughter or niece, would you encourage her to audition for something like this?

 

In all honesty Yaguchi Mari is the last person i'd trust as a mentor . I think half the reason Tsuji and Kago had their own scandals is because she was their mentor. She's just as scandal prone as anyone. Yoshizawa spends most of her time drinking now so she won't be a good mentor er Koharu...Really? . She doesn't even like being an idol never mind training new ones. The rest maybe.

 

And um. Which idol agencies are not conytolled by a 50 year old sleazy playboy? And again that's IF the guy is in control of anything. He probably isn't if anything he puts the money up for it. Kago likely has most of the say along with people she puts around her. This doesn't sound like a sleazy project at all. Just about a group coming together and having fun singing songs.

hmmm can anyone find an Idol agency that doesn't do 'swim wear' shoots? All of H!P do all of the 48s do, if you don't like it or fundamentally disagree with it...you just found yourself in very much the wrong place.  

 

Anyway some people seem to be making lots of judgements based on very little. I'll wait and see what the end result is before doing that, but I hope it's a great success for Kago.

This statement basically sez that this sort of thing doesn't exist in America or is pervasive in Japan, neither of which are true. For instance I've NEVER seen anything from H!P that was so overtly sexual that anyone was ever barred from mainstream entertainment. And we're talking about a place where mere smoking gets one a ban.

And, yes, a lot of people are jumping to conclusions about what is going to happen. I, too, preder to wait and see.

Remember, we are all speculating what is going to happen based on her previous agency and I think we are all under agreement that MAINSTREAM was not a very good fit for her and it sounds like she is already on a much better path under IFHH based on what I've seen so far. . I'd say let's hope for the best and see what happens before we all jump to conclusions.

I was on vacation the last days. Still I followed the news and it made my vacation time so much better though I couldn't post anything!

I miss Aibon so much. And I can't wait for her to come back.

 

I am so much into her coming back that at this point I don't care about the speculations what could go wrong. I think the promo pic looks good. It looks clean and innocent. Also I feel like Aibon is an emphatic person. And the description reminds me of all the small idol cover groups in Akihabara and such.

It was translated wrong. She uses both the words "oldest son" and "younger brother," so the translator on Nihongogo picked the first one and assumed she meant younger brother of her first child. However, the full phrase would be "My oldest younger brother" or "My parents' only son, my younger brother." She also says that he's in his second year of middle school, so, yeah, the translator definitely did not read the whole thing because that little statement throws the whole secret second baby argument out the window.
