Kikka was in Sapporo doing some promotional stuff.......posted a lot of pics at the old Sapporo beer brewery (which is now a mall). She ate Genghis Khan with some beers in the beer garden.

Tuesday is her 26th birthday.

Kikka looked and sounded wonderful yesterday at Viva la Pop. I was very happy to be able to bring out my Kikka towel again. I watched her sound check and performance and she was flawless.

I did her handshake event and it went really well despite my terrible Japanese. She asked where I was from and I told her USA but that I’ve been in Japan for 3 years. It got more relaxed after that and she scolded me and asked why it’d taken me so long to come see her. I told her it wasn’t my first time seeing her but she said it wasn’t enough and to go to her shows more. Then I told her that my friend is also a big fan of hers and I told her about how when we were in college we used to listen and dance to Konna atashi everyday which made her happy.

I definitely want to go to her concert. It’s my goal to do all of team makenki but their shows are always inconveniently times :(

Wouldn't you say the style / sound of this artist sounds like the more recent music of Kikka?

(The xylophone / short violin strums, and even the singing style)

Kikka's digital single NEO SUGAR SUGAR YOU came out a couple of days ago. I'm liking it quite a bit! It's upbeat and summery, and while she's still doing some weird things with her voice that I'm not a huge fan of, it's still much better than the songs she made with Oomori.  I hope this is a shift back to her older style of music!

^^ I can't believe no one agreed with my comparison.  That song uses a very similar same violin plucking & xylophone as Kikka's "Goodbye, Standard."

^ The producer of both songs is the same, Kenta Sakurai (composer/producer of Maison Book Girl).
