Hi everybody!! For goods J-Metal bands, there is Sigh -> best for me {Orchestral/Bizar Black}, Kaddenza {Orchestral/Heavy/Black}, Ritual Carnage {Thrash/Death} and Moi Dix Mois. ::lol::

I don't know a lot of J-metal, but try 403. I discovered them in a pretty famous flash from 2ch. You can get a few of their songs here (just scroll all the way down, right click the "mp3" buttons, and then "save as"). I would recommend going with Southern Cross first, then perhaps Northern Lights, but they are all pretty good.

Sex Machine Guns definitely. they're such awesome musicians and players technically, but they don't take it seriously! lol. i mean, they wrote a song about oranges..

and of course Loudness. the best metal band to come out of Japan

Maybe the lyrics are not serius but the music is  Their PVs are all so funny. By the way, I have always wanted to know of or find some of their lyrics. You have mentioned the oranges ones. Maybe you can tell me where to find romanized or translated lyrics please :rolleyes

Thanks in advance.

I will search for Loudness, must be good

The hardest thing Japanese I still listen to is Gazette. but thats because they are hot, so I can still stand them. I really cant get into Jmetal/Jrock anymore.

But i still find gackt, members of LArc, Miyavi, etc etc hot. but I dont dig there music as much anymore.

Butcher ABC, Basket of Death, and Bathtub Shitter are the three that come to mind first.

toxic025 - Dir en grey haven't been visual kei for years now. Their last album that had any visual kei images, would be kisou. Now they just wear jeans and a t-shirt, not very visual.

Hmmm....I haven't seen anyone mention Sigh yet....Sigh is a really good Japanese Black Metal band.

I second this recommendation. Also, check out Melt Banana. They're not metal but they're an interesting band. The only description I can think of that suits them would be "Wacky, proggy punk music with a singer who sounds like she's on a major sugar high."

Just checked them out, pretty cool, especially the fact they have a female guitar player. Not a lot of females playing that kind of stuff. And yeah, they really sound a lot like Pantera.

Nice Dimebag sig, by the way. It's such a shame what happened to him...

I heard some decent J-Metal bands like Moi Dix Mois, Malice Mizer, Dir en grey and Onmyouza, but when it comes to metal I still prefer the European Viking-, Power- and Battle Metal bands.

Kelly Simonz (I know, very strange artist name, but he is japanese) is a great guitarist, very similar to Yngwie Malmsteen.
