I'm more of fan of Mika as a rocker instead of the jazzy/blues singer she usually is. I like her work as Nana a lot. But I have to admit "Yuki no Hana" is probably my favorite song by her. But her rendition of "My Way"... she butchered it. I like that fact the beat and stuff was kind of rock but the vocals sounded like her and some friends singing karaoke. I know she could do better than that. And just out of curiosity whose version of Amazing Grace do you like better: Nakashima Mika's or Fujimoto Miki's? I like Miki's (and I'd like to hear a Japanese artist do a cover of the WHOLE song, not just part.)

I wish this thread is not buried! I did not know Nakashima's music until this year, but I believe she is the most amazing voice in Japan, even greater voice than those I always have called The Four Great Voices Of Japan! She is powerful singer but with all control of expression, every level, and this is her natural state. My opinion: Nakashima is the only voice comparable to Celine Dion who is probably the greatest voice in the Earth. (And no argument about pop or jazz or rock, Nakashima can sing all, like Dion.)
Anyway last week I traveled to New Mexico for my work, and back, riding on train as I do many times. Night time I watched this movie Nana first time in my life, using my computer and Bose earphones in my train sleeping room, so I know she is very fine actress too! I am learning to play "Hitoiro" on my guitar but I think I shall never sing this song! because impossible to achieve such clarity in voice, especially falsetto strength!
Okay, I seem like fan, yes? Yes, truth. But kitamurafan is correct, my opinion, "My Way" and "Amazing Grace" is much better by other singers. No one is perfect for everything, yes?

I'm not really a Mika fan but I like most of the songs she does. I mean I never saw her happy before besides in Nana when she was laughing with Hachi.

Mika was one of the first jpop artists I came across, and I've loved her ever since. I much prefer her jazzy stuff though, the Yes album was a little uneven I think. Glamorous Sky is just about my most favorite jrock song ever. I mean, Mika singing a song written by Hyde! Doesn't get much better than that

Well, I like Glamorous Sky. But I love Hitori? Is that what's called?

Yay,a topic for Mika lovers. I'm a huge fan of her music. Yep,she's my favorite j-artist. "Yuki no Hana" was my first Mika song and I fell in love with it. So glad she gave up on that rock-chick image

Kind of old but judging by the last post in this thread a lot of people might not know about it. Just stumbled upon it last night while looking up spoilers for the Nana manga even though I'm way behind.
Mika x Morisanchuu collaboration = Mica 3 Chu - I Don't Know
Posted a low quality clip but you can go to nana-nana.net and get the better quality avi version.
If nothing else it's Mika doing a rock song in English accompanied by 3 chubby female comedians. The video has it's funny moments. Watch carefully at about 2:50.

She's beautiful ^, love her music but just one thing it's annoying on youtube I only find cover versions of her music rather than the original.
