I never really knew Mari was on there  Chissa's been doing it a while though.

She started up another Q&A on her blog yesterday:

^ Nice!

Talking about centre! I suppose we will see her in talk heavy TV segments in that position (at 1:30 mark) more often these days:

And it was kind of refreshing to see Airi/Maimi in back row...

I like her crescent moon eyes whenever she smiles, she's very gorgous and funny, aas for her voice, it;s so sweet that i keep on listening again and again, i guess she's my favorite among the C-ute member.

There are number of hot topics going on on 2ch atm about this magazine interview quote of hers:

I wonder how proper human translation would sound like, because it for sure stirred up 2ch residents.

-Recently, have you gone to Budokan?

Okai: "Morning Musume's Takashi-san, Niigaki-san, Mitsui-san, Tanaka-sans' graduations.  It's going to sound a little bitchy (sharp tongued?) but... the recently added young members have had a really easy time standing on the stage at the Budokan.  I can't help but wonder if they can really feel the weight of the place in such an environment.  Standing there has become an obvious part of normal life for them.  I don't think they even think, "Finally, we've made it here!"  For ℃-ute, because the road to Budokan took a long time, the appreciation and hard work makes finally reaching Budokan precious for us."

So, it kicks up dust because Okai is implying that the younger members (9th+ generation, probably) don't appreciate the importance of the venues that Morning Musume plays.  Because they perform at Budokan "Because they're Morning Musume" instead of "Because they worked hard to get there."  But the relationship between the highly experienced Okai and the younger members of the flagship group is bound to be a little strange, and hard to feel is "clean" from the outside (including us here in the English speaking world AND them there on 2ch)/

What I've learned about Japanese so far, is that you must first pay attention to these 2 things: Rule #1 and Context. After that, just pray they remember their high-school English class.

Actually, as harsh as it sounds, I side with Chisato on this one.

(this might turn out to be a Momusu rant but ranting here is better than at the threads themselves imo)

Truly the newer gen have the years of history and fans to back them up, surely they have put in effort too but I'm quite sure that Chisato is right in them not being able to have the "this is so close... we should have done better..." feel yet compared to their seniors who have had plenty of such experiences. For example their Oricon number 1, they did not seem very surprised or delighted at all. Therefore... I guess at the standpoint of a Hello Pro senior, Chisato have a point in the paragraph she just said.

^^ First of all thanks Greyface for translation.

I think Chisa is speaking from her own experience here. H!P kids after all came in when Hello Project was mainstream. Big arena concerts were part of H!P every day life back then and were taken as granted. Then after 2006 or so it all ended so C-ute as solo act never experienced that. They had to work from bottom up to reach Budokan level this year.

Well, ℃-ute went to Kouhaku the year of their debut... So Okai probably knows a thing or two about taking something for granted that turns out to be difficult only in retrospect.
Kind of off topic (comparison to a non h!p group)
Spoiler

So in summary, different things become special to different groups which only further complicates the confusing relationship between the older and younger members...
