Saki-chan marriage annoucement, will retire from entertainment industry in November 2021.

I am so very happy for our Captain!

Annoucement was made today at the Saki-Maasa-Yurina FC events. 

Right now I am following a lot of fans who are at the events. Will post more info later.

^ Same! I'm so happy for her, but also sad to know she's leaving. Especially since she's my favorite Berryz member.

We are all happy yet sad at the same time. I know it must be hard for many of us to let this happen. However, over the years, I have learned to respect the life of my idols. I will keep on cheering and supporting whatever positive things she does in the future. For me personally, this is a BIG LOST, but I have to accept it.

In my Berryz fandom, I'm afraid I have always been DD, with a tie between Captain and Yurina. I'm very sad about her retirement, but more than anything I want Saki to be loved by someone she cares about and to have a happy life. 

 

When making the announcement at the three events, Captain said she wanted to tell some of her fans/ Berryz fans the news in her own words face to face, before it was released to the media.

Saki got to show her dancing during the events.

There were video cameras recording them, and the videos will be edited and delivered on March 19.

On their blogs, Maasa and Kumaichan said they look forward to working with her again. Hopefully Saki-chan will get to do more FC events and dinner shows in the months ahead, maybe with something special for a goodbye and her birthday in November.

Started out on my hello project fandom over a decade ago as a middle schooler, and having Captain as my first idol crush. Its so great to see her getting married now.

Happy for her but sad that she has decided to return to private life. I am not sure why she can't continue doing behind-the-scenes because it's not like she has been doing alot of public appearances ever since Berryz went on hiatus. It's so sad that the probability of seeing Berryz together in the public eye is getting slimmer. Still wish her all the best, she is my second favourite member of Berryz and her role as Captain in the group has always impressed me.

I don't know if Saki-chan is going to go completely silent (like Momoko) after November, but as she begins to concentrate after Nov. as she says on starting a family, I would love to know about the little Captains...... 

 

Saki has some acting stageplay work later this month, and another in April/May. She has gotten very good reviews for her theater work and it is sad that will be ending, too.

 

Minor detail from the FC events, but kinda nice: When the girls were talking about Berryz member birthdays, Captain made a point to say that November is also the birthday of Maiha.

With Saki-chan's retirement coming in November, some fans at a Risako fansite have started to collect messages of love and support to send to her at that time.

3 FC events today with Captain and Maimi at Yokohama Landmark Hall. 

 

Captain and Maimi wrote letters to each other and read them during the events, with lots of tears. Saki-chan also received a collection of letters from fans.

During the third event there was a surprise appearance by Nacky! She joined in the singing of Ganbacchae! at the end, which made it even more emotional for everyone.

Captain will be the guest on Nacky's radio show next week on June 19 and again on the 26th.

Captain's upcoming appearance on Youngtown Saturday cancelled just as a precaution because someone she works with got a positive PCR test. Maimi will substitute. She says she's okay at this point, but take care, Saki-chan.

Performances of the Sleeping Beauty play she's been rehearsing so hard for begin next week, so wondering if there will be an announcement about that as well....

Congrats to Saki-chan for her appearance in Sleeping Beauty. Seeing nice reports about her performance as the cook's daughter and her "gentle and sad" singing. Fans describe the audience as being parents with children.... plus older people/Beriwota with yellow t-shirts!   

Ogawa Makoto, who played Saki's role in the play several years ago, came to see it today and met Captain again for the first time in a long time.

FC event with Captain, Maasa, Miyabi, and Yurina on September 12!

Wondering if this is likely the last time they will perform with Saki-chan, or if there will be something in November as she retires.
