Nice to see Maasa and Yurina having events together. They weren't exactly the best of friends during Berryz days right?

^ Unless I'm forgetting some moments, their personal friendship was not obvious to see in DVDs and such during Berryz. Nevertheless, Yurina once said the member she was closest to was Maasa. And in the Berryz Kobo Last Maruwakari Special, Maasa said of Yurina, "In my private time, I hang out the most with her, and we've bought matching outfits and goods." She added that "I get air-headed when I'm with Kumai-chan."

And it's nice that they have been such close friends since graduation,  sometimes meeting for lunch or dinner, or their beloved Starbucks. 

During the bus tour a few weeks ago they said they want to do another tour together, and asked fans for suggestions on where to travel next time.

Today Kumai-chan was in another fashion show, her fourth in a little over a month. This one was for the Jun Ashida Autumn/Winter Collection, presented in Heavenly Stone Garden at Sogetsu Plaza.

Congrats to Yurina for modeling on the runway at the Giorgio Armani Cruise 2020 Collection show in Tokyo on May 24.

Wow, I may not be all that knowledgeable about the fashion world but when you see that name you know she landed a pretty good one! I feel so happy for Yurina! It's crazy to think that little girl from the Kids auditions is now participating in shows for Giorgio Armani.

And I really like her walk and poise. Again, I have little idea what's considered a good runway walk but personally, almost everytime I see her and compared to some other models, I think she's one of the models that strikes me the strongest, independent of my love for her as a former idol

Yurina is very by-the-book and consistent in her presentation. It'll guarantee that she continues to get good work for quite a while, although that same work ethic she's gained from being an idol might be what prevents her from attaining a higher profile that many super models reach. She just won't ever be controversial enough to elicit juicy headlines or do anything so out of the ordinary that she can get many questions raised around her. If it had been Brazil, France, or the US, her position in a marginally successful musical group would have done more than enough to elevate her profile towards general interest, but just not quite so much in Japan that it would do so in such a short amount of time.

Yurina almost never announces her fashion show work in advance, but based on her work with designer Yumi Katsura the past few years, it is probably likely that she will appear in Katsura's show this month in Osaka called CINEMATIC LOVE STORY. Hopefully, as in previous Katsura shows, she will get to model two or three outfits.

A Kumai fan on Twitter has said he is taking a chance and has bought a ticket to the show. 

 

On August 25 Kumai-chan will be the MC at Inclusion Fes. 2019. PINK CRES. and Bitter & Sweet will also be there. 

According to the event's website, it's aim is to "help create an inclusive society, where people with disabilities can live their lives to the fullest".

 

And as she has mentioned on her blog, Yurina has been appointed public relations ambassador in Kanagawa to help promote the use of solar power and zero-energy homes in that prefecture.

Yurina wore four outfits on Wednesday at the 2019 Yumi Katsura Grand Collection in Osaka CINEMATIC LOVE STORY fashion show. It was held at the Glion Museum, complete with a red carpet runway outside and antique cars.
