I doubt it's what you're talking about, but Ogawa Makoto did swim for her last PB.

Well actually I looked at her wikipedia page (The ppn) and I saw that one of her nicknames was Osuzu-chan. I really liked the nickname so I started calling Airi Osuzu-chan!

Well if you look at Osuzu you can see that the "suzu" part of the name are the first 2 sylibles of Airi's last name. But I don't know wear the "O" comes from.

maybe a native speaker can explain that? first the name made me think of "osu!" which is some typicial japanese thing to say as far as i know.
i like her real name airi the most though...
