History of ZONE

ZONE is a female bandoru (band idol) formed by four teenage girls from Hokkaido, Japan. First letter of the word is Z, followed by O, N then E. As you can see, the letters jump from the bottom of the alphabetical order to one of the top alphabetical letters. This signifies that ZONE would "expand" from their homeland (hokkaido), to Tokyo, from Tokyo to the whole Japan, and from Japan to the whole world.

ZONE started with Takayo & 7 other dancers (including Tomoka, Miyu, Mizuho & Maiko). Later, reduced to 6 members and lastly, it was reduced to only 4 members (Miyu, Mizuho, Maiko & Takayo).

ZONE is trained in Studio Runtime Artists Development School. They were formed in 1997 (8 members team), but started their indies in 1999. (Indies refer to records whereby the underground artist pay company to help them release). In 1999, ZONE released their first indies with the help of Knockers Records. It quickly hit #1 on the indies chart. Then, ZONE developed instrumental skills in 2000. Later, ZONE released their first single under management of RunTime, at P.O.T (Power of Teens), label of Sony records, which categorised Zone into a new concept of bandoru.

In January 2004, Takayo left ZONE as she wants to enter university and concentrate on her studies. A "new" member, Tomoka joined the group to "replace" Takayo.

In December 2004, Nagase Miyu (lead singer of ZONE) has debut as a soloist. Releasing 2 singles in the same month; Just Your Luv; snowy Love
