Well, some people assumed he had it removed. Since technology in that era should be advance enough to do that.

Finally Kira shows up in ep6, but he just stands there with his mouth open.
Still waiting for him to kick some serious butt!

What can Kira do to that giant colony?
Shoot it down with Freedom?
Dun think thats very feasible though....Freedom is after all not a Wing Gundam

I don't think there's enough time to stop the colony from hitting earth. And I doubt Freedom is fully functional, it was badly damanged in the last battle. Maybe Kira is like Athrun, that he stop piloting MS. It looks like Kira won't do anything until the colony hits earth.

Ano... i think kira may self-destruct Freedom and disintegrate the colony, that way it will be easier for the story to go nuclear-less ) just a guess

Unless Shin improved dramatically i dont think he stands a chance against Kira at all...
Judging by the way Asuran fight those new mechs with his refitted Zaku(yucks) effortlessly without even needing to burst the seed-and those new mechs and pilots are evenly matched with the Zaft "Ace"

nuclear bomb detonating on earth ground will generate enough dust to cause a nuclear winter... and i think explosion in the atmosphere will cause even more severe distribution of dust... but hey..do we care?

mmm... Another guess from me will be that Minerva and maybe help from 'bogey 1' will further breakdown the colony to chunks then allow the atmosphere to disintegrate smaller pieces.... then earth will use their missle defences to break down larger chunks... but many of the astroid still gets through...when orb or some big city is about to be destoryed by a real big one... KIRA appears and destorys it... everyone watches in awe then...

Minerva is trying to position itself infront of the remaining half of Junius Seven after entering earth and to blast it with its cannons. The colony will still hit earth, but this will soften things up.

Well...the leaders of earth would hope the things to get too "soften" they still want to use the colony as an excuse to wage war on plant..so the damage cannot be too big that will weaken them significantly or too small which make their war excuse somewhat lame haha
