I don't know anime that old apart from Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z? But my favourite old school anime will always be Beyblade!

mh, i would say Mila Superstar (Attack No.1), Sailor Moon, Ranma ½, Captain Tsubasa... there are definitely more, but it's not comind in my mind

Yu Yu Hakusho was my favorite as a kid, but looking back, I prefer Cardcaptor Sakura the most. It was made in 1996, so it ALMOST fits in that timeline lol

the first anime i watched was Birdy the Mighty. remember renting the vhs at blockbuster long long ago. still my favorite

recently discovered Battle Angel Alita. mostly about cyborgs beating the crap out of each other; but contains elements similar to mad max, metropolis, frankestein's monster and the matrix. not bad.

Akira is the GREATEST anime EVER!!! no question about it, but Ninja Scroll kicks some serious ass and Neo Tokyo (three diferent stories from Rintaro, Katsuhiro Otomo and the other i don´t remember but all are great in their own right ) also Fist of the North Star(mind bursting! literally!!), Devilman(GORE soaked! Ugh!), Wicked City, Dominion Tank Police, Doomed Megalopolis(great story), Patlabor 1,2,3 best anime series would be Starblazers or Saint Seiya...
