As of right now it's the only long version of the song I found. As expected of the producer of so many SPEED hits it captures that SPEED sound.
Off topic: In the scene the main character is coming to work without make-up (suppin) which is very unusual in Japan which is why everyone's surprised. It's about a company outsourcing workers from China an probably all the culture shock that comes with it. More info and possibly a thread in the drama section when it get's subbed (fingers crossed). One of the girls talks like Junjun/Linlin used to.
Another short clip of them singing the single presumably on Mezamashi TV also with people talking over the music a bit.
More clips and fan reaction from Mitamon Ga-chi.
Hopefully a PV comes out before the single releases since it's not due until November.
Anyone got higher res pics of the covers?

Considering how amazing the PV sounded I'd love to find a PV rip.
This combined with MAX's OG lineup getting back together and DAI getting back together kind of makes up for the Elder Club graduation and even that remains to be seen if it's entirely a bad thing.
With Hiro's new look she's become tied with Hitoe as my favorite. Takako's pretty but I never thought of her like so many others did.
They better get on some major music shows with long talk segments. Utaban, Hey Hey Hey and Music Fighter at least since those two shows seem to give the most talk segments. One of the best selling groups of all time deserve at least that much. Weren't there some kind of rumors one of the girls was going out with one of the guys from DownTown? That's even grosser than when Namie married that guy from TRF.

That's good news indeed! I'm a fan of theirs too!Sorry to double post, but had to do so to tell the good news. New PV now released. http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=fYnucx1E0pM They still sound great! I hope it sells well.
And I agree their new single sounds great!
I think they should be appearing on those shows soon; they used to be the most popular girl-group on Utaban and Hey!x3, I believe...They better get on some major music shows with long talk segments. By the way, has anyone seen this performance of SPEED covering MoMusu's "Summer Night Town":

I haven't been a fan for long, but as soon as I heard Hiroko sing, she became my favourite. I was worried I might not like SPEED's new stuff, because I'm a recent fan, the last stuff I've heard from Hiroko is from 2003, and I wondered if she'd still have an amazing voice 5 years later, and she does not fail to impress me
Where can I order this from and it counts towards Oricon? I don't want to buy from CD japan because they dont give a definate total, they may change it. I want the CD + DVD version, first press. I cant wait to hear the 2008 versions of Steady, Body & Soul and White Love.
@faraithi, I heard of that cover, but never actually listened to it.

Well Momusu is the biggest selling girl group in Japan and we see how much love they get now but that's a thread in and of itself.
Search 'hit parade' or 'hippare' on youtube and you'll be likely to find way more SPEED and other groups doing cover songs with varying results. Link from last year which may produce some results.
I hope this reunion makes it possible for a lot of their older stuff to become available again. I really liked the drama they were in LxIxVxE and would like to see Andromeda at some point.
Mainly looking forward to seeing them on music and variety shows again. Tokyo Friend Park? Tosochu? There was a video with SPEED vs MoMusu playing DDR on Puffy's old show but I think it got taken off youtube.

Actually, MoMusu were reported to have sold the most number of singles among all Japanese girl-groups of all time:Well Momusu is the biggest selling girl group in Japan and we see how much love they get now but that's a thread in and of itself.

but because SPEED (http://www7a.biglobe...m/al_speed.html) has sold a few million more albums than MoMusu (http://www7a.biglobe...al_morning.html), but about one million less singles (http://www7a.biglobe...ngle/speed.html) than MoMusu (http://www7a.biglobe...le/morning.html), SPEED still holds the record of having sold more discs overall than MoMusu.
Also, MoMusu only started becoming the most popular girl-group on Utaban and Hey!x3 and other TV shows from 1999 onwards, whereas during 1997-1998, SPEED was the most popular girl-group... furthermore, SPEED's line-up has not changed, whereas MoMusu's has, and it was only MoMusu's 1999-2002 line-ups (at most up to early 2005) that were highly popular with viewers of Utaban, Hey!x3 and other TV shows... TV viewers would probably have much fonder memories of SPEED and the 1999-2002 MoMusu line-ups than the more recent MoMusu line-ups, I think...
Anyway, it would be interesting to see how SPEED's latest comeback (3rd, I think) progresses... their die-hard fans from 10 years ago would still support them, but I'm not sure if SPEED would be as popular among the current generation of teenagers...

My thought exactly. I think they will still sell very well, but obviously not like they sold in the past. Damn, I want their new single so badly but don't have enough money

I thought that was around 10 years ago, when the rumour was that DownTown's Matsumoto Hitoshi had a crush on Hiro?
Matsumoto and Hiro were dating from 2004~at least the beginning of this year. There have been rumors that he's with somebody else now, but nothing concrete.

Right. If SPEED had never broken up, they likely would still hold the record in singles. Morning Musume has them beat because of longevity.

Ah, I see now!Matsumoto and Hiro were dating from 2004~at least the beginning of this year.
Thanks for correcting me!
I was under the impression that they started dating when Hiro was only in her teens! That would have been quite shocking indeed!
Most definitely... but I wonder why they broke up in 2000... well, at least their line-up was not changed for the sake of longevity, which was what kept being done to MoMusu...If SPEED had never broken up, they likely would still hold the record in singles.

It's pretty widely acknowledged that it was because of Hiroko. She was under a lot of stress due to deciding whether to go to high school, and she wanted a break from the idol thing.

I love MM, both past and present, but I think that is what is unfair for them to hold the highest single sales. I'd now say it's impossible to beat them.

If I've counted correctly, MoMusu have had 18 different line-ups so far; so strictly speaking, SPEED has way outsold any single MoMusu line-up, even if we just compare SPEED with all the Old-School/Gold Era MoMusu line-ups combined (when their CD sales were at their highest)...I love MM, both past and present, but I think that is what is unfair for them to hold the highest single sales. I'd now say it's impossible to beat them.

Speed comeback stage
It's funny how I was a Speed fan when they first started and didn't even notice about Morning Musume, but now I'm a MM fan and kind of forgot about Speed.
