I was looking at my older H!P books and cds, and whenever Heike Michiyo's discography is listed the art work for the single 'daikirai' is different from what i have seen before.

Are there alternate covers, or is the picture just temporary because they hadn't finished the art work yet?

... Wow, it's so quiet in here. Anyway, I had a question. Does anyone know if Michiyo speaks English? I'm pretty sure she writes her own lyrics (I know she wrote scene, and I thought I read somewhere that she wrote all her solo stuff outside H!P.) Anyway, I was listening to one of her songs today, RAINBOW from the JECICA album, and it occurred to me that a lot of it (more than the usual J-pop amount) was in English. Does anyone know?

kind of feel bad for her...as she is the winner of the competition but she is over-shadowed by the creation of MM
therefore she became less profilic within H!P, all attention were on MM instead of her
hope she do well outside as a soloist

to answer your question: within H!P she also wrote return (cw to scene). for her outside of hp stuff, she did all the music and lyrics. About her english.. i dont know, havent listened that much to her albums. but if she sings in english and lyrics arwe by her, she should know the language. unless she gets help from arrangers etc

THere are some news at her official site though:
she is having a concert (dunno how big) called "Michiyo 11th Anniversary Acoustic Live～CRYSTAL SKY～" in november. they'll probably post more about it as november is getting closer.

I noticed English in the beginning of 'Climbing Life' from the same album, too... That's cool & it makes me respect Michiyo even more! It doesn't even sound Engrish-y. I haven't come across ANY Michiyo lyrics from her post-H!P days or I would post them to show you. Instead, I'll just post the songs.

Thank you for offering me me the songs:) I have scans from the jecica album, and the lyrics for rainbow are in english (that whole song is in english). her music after H!P is quite good!

As for that concert on dvd would be nice, but will probably neve rhappen..
But she has actually released a dvd (but not a concert). maybe live songs or pv's? Looks like this:

Hm. I really do wonder what it is... It says on her website that the songs on it are JECICA, カイト (Kyte), and Lovers. Her music after H!P really is awesome.

About that DVD... is it like a PV compilation?

Not quite. It is a quite interesting release, i wish i'd got my hands on it.
It has a pv, a live video, talk segment and some private footage.

It'd be cool to get some new music from her.

No new news at her site.
But she is having a concert in november to celebrate her 11 years in the music business. It's be so cool to attend it!! Maybe something will come out of that concert, maybe sparkling her to make a new album *crosses fingers*

^I think she was more annoyed in how her career was going.
Even if she may of had more success under H!P I think she wanted more control.
She never auditoned to be an idol but to be a rock star.
I doubt there's any hard feelings.
I think she just wanted out and wanted to do her own thing.

Well i reckon at first he was intending to look for just one and then it occurred to him what he could do instead. She was picked out as the "winner" because he believed she did not fit in with the others as much.

If the whole asayan thing was a sham from the beginning is just speculation.
i mean, why arrange an audition for a soloist when you in fact are looking for a group! My guess is that tsunku's (or whomever has control above him) plans changed. but that is just speculation from my side too:p

Maybe they wanted both a good soloist for the band and a girl band at the same time. Michiyo was "pimped" a lot back then when H!P first started. If you read old H!P magazines Michiyo takes up most of the space and is given the role as a front person. If not a front person, then at least equal to MM.

I agree with whale when it comes to her carrier.
she was pushed further and further to the back, and i guess she wanted more control over her music. H!P was going in a different direction around the time she quit too, maybe that had something to do with it.

I have found someone who is gonna help me translate some songs from michiyo's first indies album, jecica. but i dont have the original cd's.

does anyone have scans big enough to read the kanji? or know where i can find lyrics?
