A friend of mine works in an Official Hello Project store an she has been able to get hold of the sales figures for me for all the merchandise that Morning Musume sell. This is a real guide to popularity imo. She was only able to get sales going back to April this year and i can update them each month as they come in.

So below we have the order in which them come for total sales of merchandise sold in the month in question.

I think the part on Hello Morning with herself, Yuko and Sayumi helped alot. Plus her latest photobook probably was a contributing factor. She has grown up alot in the last year.

The store in question is situated in Tokyo and i cant imagine there being much difference between any of them. As for other HP members as a rule they are simply lower than Morning Musume members. However Aya and Maki that you just mentioned to pretty well. Berryz dont really come close to Morning Musume.

Altough the sales seem low for some members i must remind people just how close it is near the bottom of the group. There are no members who have very low sales as such, just lower.

I'm surprised at how unpopular Risa is. Makoto and Miki I expected but I figured with the amount of screentime Risa gets on Haromoni she'd be more popular

I'm not surprised at all (Actually I thought it was kinda funny that Mako and Risa were doing a tango for the lowest the first few months). And Ky is probably right It might be located in an area where A MoMusu girl is more popular. I want a jersey of a baseball player that went to my school, but if he didn't go to my school, I wouldn't bother.

I was going to mention this when the December sales became available but apparently there is little difference between each stores sales which is not all that surprising IMO. Some stores sell more in quantity but the overall figures for each HP member vary little. Currently december sales have been pretty good and it looks like Makoto wont be last this time round.

Here they are apparently they were pretty good across the board. Makoto off the bottom and an improvemnet for Miki, just shows what a new photobook can do for you. On the flipside Eri is dropping probably credited to less tv time. Reina Tanaka gets 1st place which uis a first for her although it had been pointed out that some of those below her had some total sellouts of some products and if stocked could well of beaten her.It was very close at the top this time round.

Got hold of Januarys sales (remember its still only one stores results) But still probably a relatively good guide.
Ai Takahashis new photobook seems to have paid off for her as she has topped January. Poor Makoto at the bottom again and a sudden drop for Miki.

On a side not the fleur de fleur photobook seems to have boosted the sales of Rika Ishikawa, Yui Okada and Erika Miyoshi.

Thanks for the ranking Himalia! good stuff,and seems like Yossi stuck in the middle throughout the year which is a good though i dont want to see her at the bottom,make at least ONE new Alo Hello or PB of Yossi and I guaran-damn-tee her PB sell will definitely skyrocket

Got hold of Februarys sales. No change in the top four this month a few changes in the rest of the group. Makoto gets herself of the bottom of the pile. A sudden drop for Hitomi but it was pointed out to me that they ran out of stock on many of her lines for almost a week so that would of had some effect on her sales. Although Risa Niigaki came bottom this month her sales are not weak by any means.

As a rule i must say i agree with that the only thing the official HP stores have over them are some items that can only be bought in there.

Makoto back at the bottom again thats a shame and Konkon has made her way back to the top the release of a new photobook has helped iwould imagine and considering how high the sales have been for that i can see her staying at the top for a while, she also has an Alo-Hello dvd out later this month so again thats going to help her maintain that spot. Hitomi seems back to her middle ground again and Koharu sales are consistently good now it would seem. A sudden drop for Ai Takahashi, i asked about that it not a case of her sales were poor compared to normal only alittle lower and it was very close at the top, with Konkon being the only noticeable big increase. Stock levels were pretty good this month as well.

Sayumis stock levels were pretty poor part of the month on some of her more popular items so she may well of done a bit better. Hard to say tho as sales were pretty good on the whole all round. Asami Konno keeps hold of first place as was expected really considering her recent photobook and DvD release. Reina Tanaka along with Eri Kamei may well be contesting for the top spot next month due to there new photobooks comeing out in May.

I didn't know Konkon was that popular because she is so quiet and reserve. Poor Mako, she's always in the bottom 3. I became Mako's fan since I know that she was an underdog to most things.
