I forget which old video it was, but they had some specially made heart-shaped lamps specifically for the reflections, too.
What I've learned about Japanese so far, is that you must first pay attention to these 2 things: Rule #1 and Context. After that, just pray they remember their high-school English class.

^ I don't know if this is the video you mean but they used them for the close ups in Uchouten LOVE! (When I went first went searching, I could have sworn they used them in Ookina Ai de Motenashite but they didn't lol)

You gotta admit, it's very cute. (and still doesn't cast bad shadows on their faces)
I had thought it was Do It Now, but that was a ring of individual bulbs, making a kind of EU flag in their eyes.
