Singer and actress Fujimoto Miki, who graduated from Morning Musume last year June, talks about her 180 degree turn from her idol days and her current public entertainment activity. With enthusiasm she declares "This is the road that I chose. I have no regrets." She "retired" from her group (Morning Musume) due to several news articles about her relationship with comedian Shouji Tomoharu of the comedic duo Shinagawa Shouji and says that they are still continuing that relationship. We continued to interview Mikitty about public and private matters who seems to be doing well.

Reaching her fifth year in Morning Musume last year June, accompanying Yoshizawa Hitomi's graduation, she accepted the position of the 5th generation leader. However, due to pictures of her with Shouji on a date at a stone sauna as well as staying over night being spread throughout the weekly entertainment news stories, having to distinguish what's right and wrong, suggested retirement from the group (Morning Musume). She holds the record for having the shortest leadership term of 26 days. Her world was turned upside down.

"I don't have any regrets, and I don't think I will return to being an idol. As for dropping out, I'm sure I caused trouble to the other members and well as other related people, but it's not like I could've been in Morning Musume forever. When I became leader, I didn't feel any special consciousness. After all, whoever the leader is, within the group it's an individual struggle."

This year April, she made a fresh start as a soloist. In addition to her collaboration kayoukyoku single "Okitegami" with her agency's senpai Horiuchi Takao, in her first lead role for the stage play "HAKANA", among having her chest grabbed and using words that are forbidden during broadcasts, she displayed a simply mind-blowing performance.

"Since I have kind of a boy-ish character and originally didn't have the personality of a popular idol, it was easy. It's only natural to consider one's chances. I just have to keep on going forward. I determined and hate to lose."

During her early childhood, because of influence from her grandmother, there was also a time when she admired enka singers. As for her "Okitegami" single, this is the first time there's been a cassette tape release. She has visited shopping centers and small record stores from all over the country. "It was really refreshing. In the future, I want to keep on doing my best with kayoukyoku and have a wide range of grandpas and grandmas listen to my songs." With her competitive characteristic, she has made a job change and entered the world of kayoukyoku and it seems like she is accepting this big chance which all started from the news stories about her current relationship.

Until now, she avoided questions with the statement "I'll leave it to your imagination", but for the first time she accepts her relationship through her own words. She promptly denied any kind of "wedding countdown" but made this comment. "Do I have the desire to get married? I do want to get married once, but for now, there isn't. I would like to have about three kids but...it (giving birth) seems painful. However, I can't become just an ordinary housewife. I have to work, or I'll die. I love the work I'm doing now, so I want to keep on continuing it."
