The thing is the CD/DVD should have already been printed/manufactured right? I don't think they will want to waste the money by printing new CD/DVD. Not sure about CD/DVD jackets/covers.

But if they do decide to reprint the CD/DVD, can you imagine the tens of thousands of the original copies going into waste? I hope they don't do that.

IMO, may as well just sell them as it is and they can just print new copies with the current line-up, I am sure hardcore J=J fans won't mind having the original versions and it would have been a nice parting gift for Sayuki's fans.

They've adjusted the listing on the H!P website to reflect that the Limited Edition SP1 DVD will no longer include Sayuki's solo "Ganbarenai yo" video. However, her duet with Inoue Rei is still included in the LE SP2 DVD.

Thanks! Which makes me think that likely they will only make changes to the items only if they have not been printed/produced.

Or unless since the main focus is on Rei so they didn't bother. Or could be they have forgotten to update the LE SP2 DVD.

 

But I find it really amusing that the record label/agency still wants to go through the effort in re-looking into the release (ie. the production part of it) even though the agency has retained Sayuki as a talent and likely 90% of the CD/DVD buyers will be the fans of J=J (which I am pretty sure they are generally supportive of Sayuki regardless).

They are scared of fans from Yuri, you know. If some of Yuri fans are too protective of the boy and go salvage after finding out about this relationship, who knows what happens. Furthermore, Shukan Bunshun's articles almost always result in devastation to female partners, so the company has to coward for a sufficient amount of time.

I don't know, it hasn't happened in some time. Mari was still in Osaka Koi no Uta. Miki was not in Onna ni Sachi are, but that song was announced after her departure I think? The only "recent" example where they actually erased a girl was Aina if I remember correctly, but that's probably because of contract reasons (she was not under Up Front anymore, while Sayuki still is).

 

As Halos said, they've already promoted the single with Sayuki. Performed both songs while she was still in the group, had her in promo photos, etc. And as midnightbottle said, I wouldn't be surprised if the CDs were already manufactured - with covers and trading cards printed. If anything... they might edit the cover booklet, as the inside usually offers shots of all members, so they might edit that.

 

...though to be fair, Osaka Koi no Uta was released 2 weeks after Mari's resignation. They postponed the single so now they have more than 2 months.

I think the date being postponed is a strong clue that they are going to erase Sayuki :x

i really don't think they had started the gd production yet, that's what makes it most likely for them to edit sayuki out, if they had the first press in print already, the possibility of them keeping sayuki on it are WAY higher.


Honestly speaking, having Sayuki on it would probably increase their sales but it would be a weird situation

They will have online Limista sign events for those that pre-order the single through Limited Stand. As usual, those signed on camera are chosen by lottery but everyone that purchases will get an autograph.

^ I’m feeling the same. But I’m not excited about the auditions and whatnot so I guess that’s mostly what killed my excitement.

I noticed they’ve started posting group pictures of them shooting in the DOWNTOWN outfits and they don’t include Sayuki, so I guess they chose to reshoot (some of) the album covers and whatever else instead of photoshopping her out.

Where did the mint green dresses go?
DOWN TOWN is really nice and pretty, even though the green screen looks a bit funny sometimes. I don't remember Ganbarenai yo, but I guess needs a ballad every now and then (Naite Ii Yo, Feel!...).
The covers are all very simple. I guess they had to redo them all... like the MVs.
