Meruchu is a 4 member idol group formed in 2016 under Diana Project. Miyu and Himena are concurrent members of both MERUCHU and meow.

meow is an idol group about playful whimsical cats created in February 2020 under Dianna Project. Miyu and Himena are concurrent members of both meow and MERUCHU. So far meow has only performed cover songs and does not have their own single.

meow and meruchu have some of the same members but they are different groups. I just didn’t feel like making a whole meow thread when they don’t even have a single yet haha.

agreed! I hope meruchu will be more accessible internationally this year. meow too, but meruchu is the older group and hasnt had an MV in ages or had a one man live yet.

however, their new outfit is all color coordinated like rabbit hutch's and this is very silly of me but it gives me hope for them to have a good year this year.

one man lives usually have dvds too.

Idol Street is a idol project of Avex it is home to Super Girls Cheeky Parade GEM and The World Standard however in 2018 the project jumped the shark and disband Cheeky Parade & GEM now Idol Street is dying and i'm so scared because it is the reason for how i got into J-pop

Ahh I have indeed heard about idol street not handling their groups well. 

I dont know much about it but that is scary. I hope it will work out and they will make a comeback!!

 

If it makes you feel any better somehow Dianna Project doesnt exactly have a good track record with its groups either.

So im also constantly on the edge of my seat.

meruchu and meow’s joint showroom from last month is up their official youtube channel.
their next showroom is live later today japan time at 19:00JST. Link.

Well this months showroom was kind of an important one..
It was announced that meow is getting disbanded at their live on 1/31...
The only member of meow that’s not in meruchu is Reika and she will be continuing solo.
I hope they actually do things with her cause she certainly has the image of a soloist.

If it makes you feel any better somehow Dianna Project doesnt exactly have a good track record with its groups either.
So im also constantly on the edge of my seat.

aww that sucks, at least reika gets to continue solo though. but i guess it makes sense since they never really got to do anything of their own besides the covers

yeah it does make sense. they were formed just before the pandemic and perhaps the pandemic took more of a toll on their prospects than they could take. :/
