the song is so good TT im surprised to see that everyone in the group is such a good singer! Giselle seemed to surprise people the most since till now she was pushed as a rapper *only* lol

forgot to post, here's the mv for forever!
yeah i think it's just a general winter theme, though it does feel like a christmas song with the xmas tree props and snowglobes and stuff lol. plus it's february so the xmas season is still pretty recent so this feels a bit late. tbh i think this would've been better as a predebut thing but i guess they wanted to hit the ground running with a full debut like black mamba lol. but anyway, it's a very nice song! i haven't heard the original but aespa sound so nice and i'm glad they got to flex their vocals here; karina and giselle were the standouts but especially giselle, i didn't know she was so good at singing. aespa really are all rounders :0 i also really like the soft beat to this, i expected it to be kinda like a piano ballad or something but the guitar is nice, and it's a very 2000s sound in general. the mv is so pretty too!! i love the simple dancing parts, and the parts with giselle sitting on the moon and karina on the bed and just, ahh i just love everything about this. idk how much i'll listen to it but it's really nice

aespa's finally making a comeback!!! it's a single titled next level and some member teasers are already out

i was wondering what was taking so long for their first comeback (discounting forever for cover reasons) so i'm happy it's finally happening, though i'm a little disappointed it's just a single and not even a mini album. hopefully there's a b-side at least. the teasers look really cool, i love the video game fantasy concept they have. i really didn't expect winter's hair lol, when i saw it on tumblr i thought she was ningning at first haha. oh and apparently sm hired the artist whose work was plagiarized in the black mamba teasers, which is cool but also kind of blatant lol. can't wait to see more of the teasers and of course the mv & song.

But is it a physical release? They still haven't confirmed what medium it'll be released on, so there's still a possibility we might get a digital single.
Seriously, I feel that SM might have messed up on promoting aespa. I love them and they're my 2nd favorite rookie group (STAYC holds my heart) but there's a few other rookie groups who are pulling some really impressive numbers. Aespa will do good regardless but I don't think they'll be making the same impact that SM was hoping.
That said, Winter looks gorgeous in those teaser photos.

i think it's a little too early to call. i do agree that they've been way too quiet since debut and need way more promo than they've gotten (which let's be honest has mostly gone to nct), but well it's only their first comeback. and i said it when they debuted but most sm girl groups didn't get their big hit until a few comebacks in, a year or two after debut. so i think aespa still have time - other rookies are definitely doing better now (stayc have stolen my heart too recently lol, should make a thread for them), but aespa still has time i think.
also i'm pretty sure it's a digital single, since there hasn't been a track list announced or confirmation of a physical release, but idk maybe they'll reveal it sometime between now and the comeback date. we'll see i guess lol

ningning red hair.... the power she has..... and giselle's bangs!!! the girls look so good, their outfits and makeup (the makeup!!!) are amazing. and i really love the fantasy aesthetic of these teasers - that and the art really makes it feel like the next level of the black mamba teasers. i can't wait to see the rest of the teasers and the mv. and of course the song!! i love this group so much already lol damn

Using the original artist instead of plagiarizing really does make a difference.
I had to lol. But dang NingNing looks amazing. I wasn't sure how I felt about her red hair but she's serving in that photo so it's all good. I can't wait to see what's next for this comeback (hopefully a physical release). : )
(Also I'll go ahead and make a STAYC thread lol)

lmaooo it really does, makes the plagiarism feel so blatantly obvious in retrospect. knowing sm it was probably deliberate. and related to ningning's hair, i'm surprised she and the other members all got drastically different hairstyles from debut except for karina. especially since karina's the center/face of the group it seems. i mean she looks great in her teasers (probably my favorite teasers out of the 4 sets) but it's weird lol. maybe she'll get something real crazy next comeback or even in the next set of teasers if there's more.
also thanks for the thread!! finally i'll have a place to cry about my love for yoon and j lol

yeah this is ass but i loved every second of it. mv looks like hd power rangers in space and i haven't a clue what was going on in that beat drop but the "next level" talk singing is catchy as hell and ningning and winter sounded amazing. i have no clue what this is a remake of so i'm considering myself lucky to be able to see this as an entirely aespa song and have no prior context for whatever the original's from. song feels very sm with the random beat drop - actually everything about this comeback is very on brand for sm so nothing really surprised me for the worst. song is definitely bad but as a person with crap taste idc idc i love it lol
also the girls look SO GOOD!!! ningning's red hair is even more striking in the mv, and winter's as well but to a lesser extent. karina looks amazing in motion with the twintails, they make her look taller for some reason but maybe that's just the specific shots?? giselle also looked great especially in her center parts, the black hair suits her so well. loved all the looks in this mv even though i had no idea what was going on most of the time lol (what was that part with ningning and the fire background lol reminded me of 2ne1 dara). i was also really impressed with the animation on the ae-aespas where they appeared in the girls' places, i'm honestly indifferent to them but that was kinda cool. will be weird to show to my friends though. and i'm saving myself the cringe and choosing not to look at the lyrics, i already heard giselle say kwangya once it was enough for me lol
overall: song is trash but as a shit taste haver i love it. mv is stupid fun and the girls look amazing. looking forward to the performances

And for some reason, whenever I looked at Winter, my brain kept seeing Ayuni D from BiSH. Now i want to see aespa and BiSH do an MV together - which would be one of the all-time great crossovers in pop music (no matter how chaotic it turned out to be).
