Pop Music sounds really fun. When they do the Blossom Night Fever thing then J=J's Pop Music will be more up-tempo, but I actually like the slow, comfy rhythm of KAN's version. Well, I guess it's fair to say that I already like one song

Seems like that re-recorded/new version is a Karin's solo song.

Good Lord, not Karin!!!

This is really sad!!! :( I hope she will be the next H!P solo act! (at least) Wish her the best.

The second song is "Suki tte Itte yo".

I'm sad to see Karin go, but seeing someone off that's been steadily working hard for 10+ years has a little more closure to it. I hope her solo career goes well, she definitely has the talent for it. <3

Edit: Karin's announcement video has been subbed, via twitter.

https://twitter.com/...880082829905923

Edit x2: The descriptions of the songs in the news announcement:

"Pop Music" - nostalgic, bright, pleasant, THE DISCO number.

"Suki tte Itte yo" - newly written by Yamazaki Aoi. Did you enjoy "Bitansan" and "Hitori de.."? This is the third installment of the "Setsuna" series.

I kind of wish they'd just throw Platonic Planet on there since it is the last of the held back songs for Juice=Juice would've been nice to just start clean and not have to edit stuff

(I'm sure they had to edit Borderline to take out Yanamin and Yukanyan and add in Riai and Yume)

i'm excited that one of the a-sides is by the same composer as hitosore since i really love that song, and that borderline and va-va-voom are finally being released, but karin... :( i'm not really surprised but it still sucks to lose her

^^^Thanks bb! Also added your tracklist info from Jplop into the main post.

Though Bitansan and Hitori de were made by the same guy, I didn't know it was supposed to be a trilogy? All I knew is they all had this certain old-school pop feel (something like what we've seen with the recently-popular Plastic Love) and I absolutely love it.

"Pop Music" is ripe for strong funk arrangement.

I have tried SOO hard to not buy multiple copies of the same single. But am I really supposed to live my life without Borderline or VaVaVoom?

The bastards finally got me.
What I've learned about Japanese so far, is that you must first pay attention to these 2 things: Rule #1 and Context. After that, just pray they remember their high-school English class.

You could always buy ONE physical copy and buy the other song on a digital platform like iTunes? I never buy physical copies of singles (albums or Blu-Rays, but not singles). But if you really like owning a physical copy, that’s an option.

I do like physical copies. The “colllecting” is part of why I buy CDs. But I’m not a completist that wants every version either. So I think I’m in a weird niche. In a way, the multiple versions is a blessing to the normal but intense fan, since they’re likely to buy many physical copies anyway (event tickets etc) they can have a little variety in what they buy. :D

I was mildly annoyed when Ashita wa Acchi was on the album, because I had to fight myself to buy the digital... then when it turns up physically. qq. I felt like I got tricked into buying the digital because they called it digital only...

I think the digital release WITH short version was the biggest failure and error of Hello project this past years. And i'm relieved that it was a commercial failure. I think it's what killed Country Girls too in fact. And when at the time they tried to spread the concept to Tsubaki factory, then Angerme etc it was just horribly bad for everyone, them and customers. I'm happy they completely stepped back and stop that greedy disrespect to the soul of the company and message that they habitually deliver in their songs to the world. (for me).
