I'm not going to post it in all the concert threads this time.

All live events and concerts have been canceled through to June 28th. The two upcoming graduations (Miyamoto/Funaki) have been postponed.

To be honest I'm somewhat relieved. Murotan and Kobushi tried their best to make their graduations wonderful, but it did feel a bit empty without an audience.

^I might sound a lot harsher saying it bc muro was my oshi but, those graduations were absolutely dreadful without an audience and it left me feeling empty and spiteful lol. I'm glad they're postponing the graduations, I want them to get the farewell they deserve. I know there must have been some reason why they couldn't postpone the kobushi and muro's grads, but i hope they never do that again.

ikr, it was so hard watching the final kobushi live knowing they were singing to an empty room. i know they couldn't have postponed their disbandment since the members had other things they wanted to do, but i hope at least their graduation was the last one without an audience. karin and funakki deserve good sendoffs, and it sucks that kobushi and muro couldn't get those but hopefully they were the last graduations of that kind. q_q

that was a bit off topic so anyway, i wonder how long they'll postpone karin (+ funakki)'s graduation till they can get an audience. i mean depending on how long it'll take for things to go back to normal, it could be like a year longer, and idk if they'll want to wait that long (and funakki's already been waiting a while). and i already mentioned it, but with karin's graduation postponed i wonder if that means reirei'll have to wait longer to start promoting with j=j? just some thoughts lol

With the emergency delcaration in effect I'm not sure they could actually gather the members & needed staff to do an audience-less concert, even if they wanted to. I hope they have a lot of saved up footage for the YT shows over the next few weeks.

One of the differences is prep-time. Because the whole tour was cancelled, it's not "one day of work" it's weeks and weeks of work. Having everybody together for rehearsals, staging, etc is a lot more than just having a show.

One & Done shows are really indulgent, but even aside from the expense, it's a lot to ask of people in health risk. Much more than running Hina Fes was, considering it was already rehearsed & the infection rate was much lower then... And the request by the Japanese government to reduce contact has gotten stronger since then as well. They need to be "good examples" for social distance on top of all that.

All that aside, I totally agree that the audience-less shows were cringey. The "through the screen" encouraging cheering was... not a good look. The silence after Ruru's long-note in VaVaVoom also makes me want to hurt myself. I also hope they never do it again, but if they're going to, I hope the stage directors watch some of the "isolation shows" for hints about how to engage an audience through a screen without pretending they're in the audience.

感染拡大の収束状況を見通せない中で、卒業の時期や形について改めて話し合いをし、

「やはり最後のライブは生でやりたい」

というかりんの強い意志があったので、卒業延期という形をとらせていただきました。

Kanazawa reports that they’re were talking about how to hold graduation under these conditions and it was (partially? Primarily?) Miyamoto’s desire to have the show live...
What I've learned about Japanese so far, is that you must first pay attention to these 2 things: Rule #1 and Context. After that, just pray they remember their high-school English class.
