I haven't seen a thread like this for this year yet. 2020 for the most part seem up in the air me as far a predictions go, most of my 2019 were wrong.

 

Last year - Correct in Green, Crossed Out for Wrong, and Debatable in Gold

Predictions:

 

Morning Musume

- I think they are going to add new members. (They don't really have anything else going on except the usual releases)

- This is more of a hope but I want to see them move away from EDM and bring back the choruses in their songs While I'm really looking forward to their next single, I just realized that they only have one release last year. Their usual single blend together so much that I can't even tell when they came out anymore. This new single is such a breath of fresh air.

- I also don't think that Haruna is going to be the only person to graduate next year

 

Angerme

- They seem to be changing their sound and image towards being more fashionable with more fun songs so I think they'll keep following that trend

 

Juice=Juice

- I think they'll continue focusing of tours Outside of line-up changes, did they do anything other than tours?

 

Kobushi Factory

- Unless their sales see a dramatic increase, I still see them adding new members since that's H!P solution to a lot of their problems They didn't add new members, but instead they're just on back burner.

 

Tsubaki Factory

- Another anime tie-in 

- Maybe a drama or movie tie-in

- Since they didn't get one this year, I expect they get a hall tour next year

- I think they'll have a single that out-sells Teion Yakedo

- No member changes

- 2 singles (and they will both be full of bops)

This was a really bad year for the group, I just hope they can rebound in 2020. I'm glad there have been no line up changes and I hope it stays that way

 

Beyooooonds

- Won't make any expectations for this/these group/s since they haven't even finalized the lineup I didn't have any expectations since the idea behind this group being broken up into other groups is kind of a mess but they definitely had a great debut year.

 

2020 Predictions/Hopes

H!P

- No auditions with no results

 

Morning Musume

- I hope this new single marks a change in sound/line distribution for the current line-up

- At least 2 singles 

- I don't expect anyone to graduate this year

 

Angerme

- Only one new member from the addition

- I hope I'm wrong, but since they seem to rotate who gets only one single in a year, I think this might be a year when they get only one

- They'll do a musical

 

Juice=Juice

- They'll probably get another hall tour

- even more new members

 

Kobushi Factory

- A joint tour with Tsubaki Factory

- At this point, I don't think they'll add more people to the group

- No graduations

- I don't see them returning to their original rock sound

- More a cappella performances on Youtube

 

Tsubaki Factory

- I hope they can get their momentum back

- Since they are having a January release, I think their next single will come out in June and I hope they have something at the end of the year.

- Let this be they year that they finally get a hall tour

 

Beyooooonds

- Their first live was was bigger than KF's first hall tour, so I'm guessing they'll officially get one of those.

- they'll continue to sell 100k+

My predictions last year

I'm just gonna keep this short and sweet.

Beyonds have a great debut. This was definitely correct

Country girls continue as a unit (still release music). They did release new music but they also ended so...

Morning musume audition for new members to be added in 2020. OMG I was right!! Well 15th gen was added earlier but they are debuting in 2020 

No other graduations on 2019 apart from the ones already announced. Oof this was so wrong...

 

A few predictions for this year

MM will rise as the new era is finally upon us and their sale may finally beak 200K

Angerme will not get any new members from the audition but will get 1 girl from kenshuusei

J=J no new members pls

Kobushi will release an a cappella song as an a side on a single

Kobushi will write an original song

Tsubaki will regain their momentum and be the 3rd best selling group

Beyonds will rival MM in terms of sales and be just as successful 

H!P will finally put their discography on spotify and other streaming services

i didn't have any predictions for last year since i'm new to h!p, so i'll just make ones for this year lol

(...also this turned out to be more of a wishlist than predictions, oops)

 

momusu:

• k&k/lovepedia/nknww sells well
• another single releases towards the end of the year to high sales, generally well received
• their sound shifts to a different genre/focus hopefully, they def need a new direction with their music
• big focus and push for 15ki

beyooooonds:

• new single releases, partly set in the meganeverse but also introduces a new universe/storyline
• their popularity rises beyond wotas and bring a lot of attention to h!p again
• highly successful 1st tour!
• world domination

angerme:

• reirei joins angerme after kobushi's disbandment
• new member from audition, but none from kss
• 1 single in the middle of the year?

juice=juice:

• decent year for them, a new single releases to moderate success
• no new members, but maybe some graduations? :/

kobushi factory:

• a farewell single, maybe a best album? but they just released their 2nd album, so it's unlikely

tsubaki factory:

• strong sales, 2 singles total
• rise in popularity, hopefully they're able to find their footing and regain their momentum from before

other h!p:

• new kss members?
• a new group is planned, made up of mostly kss but their concept is unknown
• h!p on spotify pleeeease T_T none of my friends r willing to try them since they're not on there

H!P

- Initial announcement for a new group around Q3-Q4, possibly ft. Inoue Rei.

- Inoue Rei possibly added to an existing group. ANGERME and Juice would be my first guesses.

- No groups are invited to perform at the Olympic ceremonies. An H!P All Stars-style support single seems more possible but chances of that still seem slim.

- The TV Tokyo "AI DOL" show will end and they'll renew the timeslot with something that includes studio performances again. (This one is purely selfish fantasy. They could replace it with 30 minutes of Momomhime beatboxing while Reina yells train schedules at the camera for all I care, almost anything would be better than what it is right now.)

- H!P & UF's overall presence at TIF2020 will continue to be notable.

 

Morning Musume

- At least 2 singles.

- 200k. 200k. 200k. 

- New album.

- No graduations or additions this year, but something may be announced for next year.

- Won't get to perform at the Olympic ceremonies but will release a support song for an Olympic team (a la °C-ute's "Exciting Fight".)

- Stamina Monsters will appear on the biggest stage at ROCK IN JAPAN again.

- Rio probably doesn't break any photobook records like she wanted (clock is ticking), but will get one this year.

- Will perform at least once overseas.

 

ANGERME

- At least one Kenshuusei added through the audition, with an off the street audition winner.

- No graduations this year beyond Funaki, but maybe an announcement to take place next year.

- A year of holding steady after a string of departures and additions. No massive growth, but no downward turn either.

- Invited back to ROCK IN JAPAN.

 

Juice=Juice

- Surprisingly no graduations or additions this year. (Just vibes, man.)

- Will perform overseas at least once or twice this year.

- Invited back to ROCK IN JAPAN. Bumped up to a bigger stage.

 

Kobushi Factory

- Their final single will sell the best of all their releases to date.

- Hirose, Nomura, and Hamaura will stay with UF in some capacity.

 

Tsubaki Factory

- No additions or graduations.

- Another "Konya Dake.." track (more in terms of something that gets fans excited rather than style).

 

BEYOOOOONDS

- The second single will also pass the 100k mark.

- Even better reception at TIF2020 with the influx of new original songs.

- Some kind of anime related work.

- Someone will get their first photobook or image book, probably Shiori or Yuhane but I could also see it being Rika, maybe Reina.

- Reina will get a regular feature in a magazine and/or make a wear account.

- ONLY3 gets a name.

- Will hold a collab live with a non-UF idol group at some point.

 

Hello Pro Kenshuusei / Hokkaido

- New members for both. Can it even be a prediction if it's almost certainly going to happen?

- At least one more popular / well-liked Kenshuusei will leave suddenly.

- At least one Kenshuusei that has already left will show up somewhere else.

- At least three or four debuts this year.

- Kawano Minori will end her hiatus, but ultimately leave the program.

- One or two girls will be rotated into the Kenshuusei Unit.

Instead of predictions, I'm gonna do hopes, cus I'm cynical by nature so actually trying to predict the future bums me out.

 

- Inoue Rei debuts as a soloist, her first single has a rockish song and a cover of an underrated H!P classic as a B-side.

- Hello! Pro Acapella Club is formed with Inoue as the leader. If the members are full H!P members, they will function as a singing equivalent to the Dance Club.If they are KSS, the unit will double as back dancers for Rei's solo performances/music videos. Rei will mentor them, and maybe they will debut as a proper group in the future.

- Kobushi Factory's last single exceeds expectations with it's sales.

- At least one 9-11th gen Morning Musume member graduates, but I don't mind who.

- The new KSS blow all our minds at the test event. 

-  Only3 will never get an official name, but H!P will consider to push them as a unit (give them unit songs together, matching outfits, etc.). Every time, they perform as a unit, they will be credited with a different name. 

- Ishiguri Kanami and Saito Madoka debut, don't know where, but they do. Maybe added to Morning Musume at the end of the year, if they lose any members. One could end up in ANGERME. 

- Angerme only adds one member, if that

- Juice=Juice and Tsubaki Factory maintain stable line-ups

- Akane's PB sells well

My speculations and/or hopes for this year.

MM:
-One of the 9-11 membres announces her graduation during autumn tour. No idea who.
-Maybe an album?
-Rio is getting a PB (I hope so...)

AG:
-Haruka comes back soon.
-2 or 3 new membres.

JJ:
-Will be fine even with Karin leaving.
-No more graduation this year.

TF:
-Another good single with good sales.
-Ami releases a PB.
-A SECOND ALBUM PLEASE!

BY:
-Still popular and good new songs.
-Someone is getting a PB (probably Yuhane or Shiori, Minami, Rika, Miyo)

Others:
-Don't know what to do with Rei. Don't think she will be a soloist, so maybe Angerme/Juice=Juice.
-A new group created at the end of the year with KSS.
-Ichigo and Natsume debut.

OK, half the year is over but I still have speculations/hopes for the rest of the year:

 

MM:

-Another single gets released and 15ki are not pushed to the back

-Nobody announces a graduation this year

-Rio gets a photobook

 

Anju:

-They add 3-4 new members; 1-2 KSS are added

-Funakki graduates at the end of the year after single promos are done

-(Speculation) Akari announces a graduation for sometime next year

 

JJ:

-Karin graduates at the end of the year

-Rei gets purple after Karin graduates

-A new single is announced after the graduation with the new lineup

 

TF:

-Someone else gets a PB

-They do something new for promos for the new single

 

BY:

-They get another single and it's also very successful

-Momohime and Honoka get together and do a really rocking cover with piano and talkbox
