1. I don't think they'll get a name.  I think that's actually the reason the song was written.  Unless we're supposed to start calling them "We need a namers" or something.

 

2. If they did, they'd stop singing the song.  Songs fall off of setlists for all sorts of reasons, and if one has been written as a time-sensitive joke, it'll fall off setlists much sooner.  Give or take a dozen years from now, when one of them is graduating and they want to do a "remember when..."

 

FWIW, Hashimoto Shin (Overall Music Director) talked openly (in the Fall?Winter?  2019 Beyooooonds special edition of Quick Japan) about the concept (not a plan) of growing Beyooooonds dramatically, so they could have daily/near-daily stage shows  If they go that route, there'd be tons of members without a group name. 

(OTOH I can imagine that as members get added, they do make more named groups, but there's always a few members not in a named group to continue "We need a name."  They could change the staging so the unnamed members are showing off their-own special skills...)

I always thought of the ONLY YOU girls' participation in BEYOOOOONDS to be similar to how some members of E-girls are only part of that group and not any of the smaller groups within it. It was my assumption that they were never intended to be in subunits. However, having a song called "We Need a Name!" kind of implies that they are indeed a group. So I'm not really sure what to think anymore.

I think it more calls attention to the fact that they aren't in a group, but they DO get lumped together, and if they're going to get lumped together having a name is better than being "the other three" "Only You Audition members" or the HKS (Hirai, Kobayashi, Satoyoshi) that I use in my own head...

Rn I think they actually will get a name. UF is always very considerate in respecting the girls' wishes and aren't afraid to make dumb marketing decisions while doing so.

Not saying it necessarily would be a dumb marketing decision but if they actually go through with adding lots of new members it probs kinda would. Idk depends on how well thought through this whole thing is. Considering how Beyooooonds was founded and what we got so far tho I feel like they are handling the whole group more like a concept group where they try out new things.

 

I think lots of us still remember the chaotic days when h!p had tons of subgroups that only released a couple of songs if not only one before falling back into nothingness. Which srsly was probs bc they had fun in exploring different concepts but at the same time was a huge mess marketing wise. You rly can't expect the general public to keep up with all this reshuffling stuff. I'm still in awe that 48 became so successful while doing similar stuff. But I guess they had lots of other marketing techniques and channels that played in their favor.

I think in 48's, unless you are someone like Takamina or Sasshi, you have no choice but to follow the order of your group's manager. The shuffling stuff which 48 does relies on manager's marketing strategy, not the wishes of the girls themselves.

In H!P, it looks like sometimes the manager sacrifices tactical marketing to fulfill girls' wishes, and I hope you're right, IchVermisseDenSommer. It is because what we saw so far occurs to Country Girls, which wasn't established by H!P manager. For example, Yamakki and Ozeko were allowed to be idols as part-time jobs, which never happened before in H!P history. However, I guess that in groups like MM, Angerme or BEYOOOONDS, the manager prioritizes marketing strategies.

Not only that, it's also a real hall concert. Often enough new groups have to do tons of live house tours before going to halls. They're really pushing them.

Curlymckay: Golden Week is a stretch of time from 4/29 to early May that's full of holidays. Tons of people are out of work and school, a big time for travel, store promos, events, movies, etc. It's a smart time to hold their first hall sized concert. Events held during GW will likely have an attendance spike.
