Blu-Ray tracklist:

1. Escape Tour at Pacific Yokohama performance footage

____
____

Notes:

• Migigawa is noted to have been recorded at home rather than a studio.
• She’s credited for co-writing the lyrics of four songs on this album (Hana Uta, Parallel Date, Watashi no Migiawa, and Kimagure), which is double the amount from DMAF (perfect timing and #DMAF). The other co-writer is her friend Yamazaki Aoi from university, who wrote Kimi no Suki na Hito. All four songs are within the same vein as Suki na Hito, so that’s 3 mellow songs in a row on the track list.
• We’ve already seen performances of all tracks but Dissolution.

I didn't expect a second album this soon. I'm definitely looking forward to it though; I enjoyed the promoted songs from her first album more than the recent single.

Looking things over, I noticed out of the 9 unreleased original songs she’s had over the last year and half, No Live No Life and Get in the Groove didn’t make the track list, but rather a cover song (Betsu no Hito) and IDENTITY seem to have taken those spots instead. If IDENTITY had been an a-side, I’d understand, but it was a b-side... I personally would have preferred to have a song that hasn’t yet been released in studio version over a b-side we just got on a release three months before.

Not to mention No Live No Life is incredibly popular and she performs it all the time, so it not being included is weird to me. I don’t know if maybe those songs will be on the next single (like how The Brand New Look appeared on the Escape release) whether as a-sides or b-sides. Would be weird to have them hanging around until the third album, but Airi’s still just starting out and hasn’t released enough for us to know how few and far between her albums and singles will be. We might not get her second single until a year after this like Escape, lol (or alternatively, this is the start of regular steady releases every three-four months, now that she’s out of the “brand new debut” stage)

We finally have updates!!

The covers are out. Blue is the limited edition with DVD and pink is the regular CD-only. The Blu-Ray DVD will contain the Escape tour footage, backstage footage, and also the HAL collaboration video of Kimagure.

Pairing the tour with this release actually makes a lot of sense considering most of the tracklist was performed.

I love that first cover. I've got my fingers crossed for this album, since I wasn't quite as taken by her single.

Dissolution preview just after the 9:00 mark.

I really like it!! This album is going to be like DMAF in that it’s a mix of genres - very Airi-like. I love the deeper tone she’s singing in, her voice sounds good in these types of songs too (it’s in a similar vein to Iinjyanai and DAYLIGHT, with a very classic feel to it).

I love dance shots so I’m really hoping we’ll see those regularly (though I know it’s mostly because the MV and dance shot aren’t on the album release, so maybe future dance shots won’t be uploaded like this one was if they are included on a DVD release).

The choreo for this track is noticeably more complex than the choreos for her last album and Escape. Airi has really improved with dancing and this shows that really well, so I’m happy they’ve upped the level of it and I hope they continue with that. I haven’t seen if Airi has said that Kanata is still choreographing for her? The YT comments suggest that’s the case but I haven’t seen any confirmation on that - I was starting to think maybe Marina (her backing dancer in the blue top) was doing the choreo given how different it is from Airi’s previous ones and was more Marina’s style.I personally found Kanata’s choreos to be very similar to one another with dance moves being reused in multiple different songs, and it felt like the dances lacked creativity at that point. She has a very specific dance style as evident in her insta vids of other dances she’s created, and this is much different from that and more closer to what I’ve seen Marina do. Either way, it’s fantastic and refreshing.

And the MV is so cute, I love everything about it and can’t stop watching it! I’m happy they didn’t put hardsubs into the video this time and instead used the CC, but those are worse than usual so not sure if they’re strictly google translate in that case. Also — I noticed she’s singing in a deeper tone than usual (and I noticed that for dissolution as well), and it really suits her! She doesn’t sound as strained as she sometimes does when sitting in the higher tone area.

Note for future reference, how do I embed video? I tried a couple of things and it didn’t work so I figured someone who knows how would update the thread with it, but I’d like to be able to do that in the future lol.

^ YouTube embeds automatically as long as it's the formal video link, not the mobile link. If you open the mobile YouTube link you posted in an incognito tab in your mobile browser, copy the URL that opens and take out the m. at the start of the address. That's the fastest workaround I've found for embedding videos on mobile. Obviously if you have a computer the link should embed automatically if you just copy the URL from your browser.

I really love the funky vibe of the song. And yeah, I enjoy that shes singing in a deeper tone. Sometimes she gets really shrieky when she does high notes, like IDENTITY, and those seem more difficult to sing live as well.

I can kinda tell what they're going for in the music video, but I do wish that she had more than one outfit... The outdoor shots weren't super amazing either - too dark, and mostly profile shots for the brighter ones too. If only she had dance scenes with her dancers and they included full body shots.

Here’s a few live performances from the past week and a bit. The latest one on Yaguchi’s Internet show is... I’m losing it over how good Airi sounds there. Starts around 23:00

Received my album today!! It came with a PlayPass QR thingy and I was excited but I don’t have the app in my country/region on the App Store so it seems I can’t use it. Is it just a ringtone? Anyone know?

This album is fantastic, I’ve been listening to it all day. This album leans more to the rock side of things and has less variety than DMAF but that’s a good thing for this album as it’s more cohesive. I really like the deeper vocals she’s using on most of the tracks. The album has five mellow songs so it’s more mellow overall than DMAF but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as I do like all the mellow songs. But my one and only complaint is the way Ajri sings those mellow songs — she uses a very cutesy voice (more cutesy than usual) and unfortunately when Airi does that she doesn’t sound as smooth (especially in the higher notes) and so it’s a shame because if she sang them normally/in a deeper tone the songs would be 3 times better. They’re really good songs so it’s a shame I don’t care for the way they’re sang, which is pretty distracting and hard to look past... There’s multiple points where she sounds like she just can’t hit the notes or it’s more talk-singing. I love Airi’s voice so this is a bit disappointing to me.

Aside from that, my fav mellow song would be Kimagure (where she does use some power at the end and it’s beautiful). I want to pick like a solid top three tracks but honestly, putting aside my issues with the way some of them are sung, I love all the songs - especially the non-mellow tracks. I’d say this album is better than DMAF for me in terms of the songs all being so good I can’t choose favourites. Another great album and I’m so proud of Airi for having consistently solid releases so far. For me at least. lol

Haven’t watched the DVD or such just yet, just wanted to plop down my thoughts here about the album itself. Did anyone else buy it? Or buy it digitally? Would love to hear others’ thoughts. <3
