Hobby:
Magazines, researching cute girls.
When asked about girls she’s currently interested in, she said that within Hello Project it’s Inoue Rei.
Outside of h!p she thinks there are lots of cute girls in =Love and thinks that NecoPla’s Aoki Risa is extremely cute. She picked two indie groups, confirming the rumours of her being an idol fan since before Momusu.

Speciality:
Flute, typing on the computer. She is also good at eating fish. She mentions some songs she can play and they’re all well known Japanese songs, the other members are impressed.
Maria complains that she is very slow at typing and wants Rio to teach her.

Favourite/Least Favourite Foods:
Loves spicy foods, generally doesn’t hate anything but is bad with Chanpurū (an Okinawan dish)
Maria tells her that liking spicy stuff should be helpful in punishment games.l, Rio said she’d love that. After being asked if she goes to CocoIchi (curry restaurant), Rio says she picks the spiciest curry. Maria says she usually has to put cheese and egg in her curry to cool it down. Compares her to Oda since she likes spicy stuff and cute girls.
Only avoids Chanpuru because it’s bitter, doesn’t actually hate it. Maria says she should try it again next time they’re in Okinawa.

Reason for applying for the Momusu audition:
Her piano teacher loved Morning Musume and suggested the audition to her. Rio has aspired to be in the entertainment industry for a while and she watched the announcement video. She found herself thinking “If I were to be in this group I’d definitely be happy” and decided to apply.
Her teacher was happy she made it in and told her “I didn’t think you’d take it or actually be accepted”
About the day she found out: She had filled in some documents earlier and went home from the final screening.
She was told her grandma would be coming round and to wait for her so they could go and eat together, but when the door went it was actually Fukumura Mizuki. She was shocked since she opened the door casually, expecting her grandma to be there.

Admired Senpai:

As a person: Kaga
Kaga was originally like a normal senpai but she grew to really love Kaga.
Maria butts in here to say “Oh I thought (your oshi) was Maria!”
Her oshi members before she joined were Maria and Kaga, who were also her mother’s oshi members. Homare’s mother is also a Maria oshi.
(Kaga seems to be helping train the 15ki members)

Regarding calling Rio "Wario"

I'll preface by saying that you can call her by the nickname you please; that's your right. Well, unless you like live in a country with limited speech protection, in which case I've already reported you to the local authorities.

If you follow Rio's thread on 5ch you'll see comments advising disuse of "Wario", citing usage by inciting antis. There are also comments that use "Wario" regardlessly and state that it's simply a portmanteau of Kitagawa Rio. What's undisputed is the fact that this term did not originate from Rio or those related to her. I'd venture to say it originated from 5ch.

If "Wario" conjures up anything to the average person it's probably the image of the Nintendo Mario series character by that name. The meaning of that character's name is derived from a portmanteau of "Mario" and "Warui"(Japanese word for "bad"). So the image of "Wario" and "bad" can go hand in hand. As such, detractors seem inclined to use the term, while some fans view it unfavorably.

If you used the term, might I entreat consideration in using another nickname that would mitigate possible confusion. But that's merely my own opinion and I'll end by reiterating that it's your decision as to how you want to address Rio.

Yesterday's blog question was "What's your favorite color?" To which Rio had this to say:

Well... if I was asked what my favorite color is, it would be pink though.. LOL

The 15th gen blog was featured in Ameba's Best Rookie Award, as one of the hottest blogs that started in July. She never expected that they'd win so she's very happy about it.

On days with lots of baggage, Rio prefers a big tote bag over a backpack because with a backpack she just doesn't know what to hold on to with her free hands.

Homare used to prefer backpacks in the past but lately she's changed to tote bags. She noted that perhaps she was influenced by Rio since Rio always uses a tote bag.

There are tasty snacks with few calories and these are often what Rio can't help but buy at convenience stores. Before she joined MM she would buy things she figured she'd want to eat without worrying about calories.

"Your talent" was the theme for the new members corner in the H!P summer tour night show on the 21st of last month. According to a fan report, while Rio normally and smoothly answered the question, Homare began with something like "It's not exactly a talent but..." which resulted in the remaining 5 other new members reiterating the same thing. They were told that they should be more confident and it sort of seemed like only Rio was brimming with confidence.

The photo is with Matsunaga Riai. Rio will go interact with Matsunaga and be like, "Riai-chuaaan"(-chuan is intentionally saying -chan funny and can be even more affectionate). Matsunaga's conversational skill is amazing and because she is levelheaded, you wouldn't think that she's a an 8th grader. Rio said it feels like being with someone her age. It's really fun talking to her and Rio loves her singing as well.

Rio's favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate mint, ever since she was little. She also likes the "Hi-Chew"(ハイチュウ) brand of ice creams but hasn't seen much of them lately. And wrapped up with, "ChocoMint is justice!!!!"

At around this time last year, she was hanging out with her friends all the time.Going to summer festivals with her friends every year was fun. She did standard fun stuff like eat candied apple and fried noodles, drink Ramune, and "Yo-yo fishing." Something that always occurs with her and summer festivals is almost bumping into a running kid that's about preschool age. "Honestly every year!!!!! I wonder why.... LOLOL Am I like a magnet!? "

Satou: Okay so the other day Kitagawa-chan, um I call Kitagawa-chan On-chan though, when um she was next to me on the bullet train, even though I was talking to the manager the whole time, um what do call this? A hanging runny ear thing?

Satou: I think it was. Like, cause I totally thought it was something else. She like had them on—they weren't noisy though—but since she had this white hanging thing on, I thought she's probably not listening, but she was right in the middle and grinning the whole time. You know that might be why, um since she would be frank and just laugh and stuff, that eased the tension!
Yokoyama: Ahh...
Mei: Ahh.
Yokoyama: But if I recall correctly Rio-chan really.. shows her emotions, perhaps.
Satou: That's right! On-chan seriously, the things she thinks about in her head—um for example work stuff—so the things that occur naturally goes right to her core; and so she shows her emotions—therefore she's absolutely (hits table)
(Satou went on a tangent talking about Rio so Yokoyama, who was the MC for this episode, brought the conversation back to the subject they were originally on)

EDIT: Forgot to mention the reason for weekly highlights now. Lots of content comes out on some days while others, not so much. My time can also vary day to day. By doing weekly highlights I can balance it out and spend my time more efficiently.

She's rather good at dancing for someone who has no prior experience. She can keep up well with Homare and Mei and her movements don't look like they'd lack strength. I feel like the only time her lack of experience really shows is when they do the free dancing parts. But I'm genuinely impressed! They seem like an amazing generation

She stopped updating her socials two months ago when she was introduced, she didn't have anything (MM related) to complain about yet. She just complained about stuff like school and her parents not getting her concert tickets, and talked about the groups/idols she liked.
