Just pre-ordered the album on iTunes. Only 13 hours till it's the 27th in my country. Can't wait to listen to all the songs!

It's out on itunes! A lot of the songs don't sound like I thought they would but so far there's nothing I dislike (other than them saying we get 10 songs and one of them being Sweet Girl's Night rather than a new song) so I'm a happy fan will probably post my thoughts properly tomorrow afternoon since I'm falling asleep

It's the middle of the night and I'm so confused. They definitely tried to change things up this time and I'm so not sure yet what to think. Like of course I love it but I'm also not sure wether I enjoy this album as much as their first. It's a lot less teen pop/Disney channel and more like early 2000s avex. More grown-up, more ballads or at least up-tempo ballads. 

That's not necessarily bad but it comes with the sacrifice of less catchy melodies.

It's a really good album though. Why aren't more people crazy for them? I'll never understand. Gonna listen to this album non stop over the next couple of weeks.

 

EDIT: Was this supposed to be a winter album? Not only Sweet Girl's Night but also true love. sounds like it and the longer I think about it the more the songs overall feel like something you might want to listen to when it's cold outside.

Also: I already owned Sweet Girl's Night. Thanks UF! Well, it's still a great Christmas bop!

 

Etcetera is such a Namie Amuro song. This album really screams avex trax. I love avex music I just don't like how they treat their artists like interchangable trash. So it's actually great UF is giving me avex tunes now.

I gave myself some time to let these songs set in before giving my impression, and I was surprised at exactly how much I love listening to Etcetera.  There's a lot that could be said for the video and the direction, but I can't really say that I think it doesn't suit them.  Miyabi has always been a chameleon, but as a whole, it still kind of works.  I agree with the Namie vibe as well.  It felt like it was addressing an itch that I didn't realize I had until it was scratched.

Well now that I am more awake and have listened to the album a couple of times I have a more coherent opinion haha

P I N K: I knew this song from their live and I like it a lot. I especially like Hikaru's rap introducing the members and Miya's "Ai wa Pinkku" line. Though I do think it's stronger live (It kinda asks for fan participation) I think this is a great opener.

Etcetera: Well this song has been talked about the most and I don't think I have much to add that hasn't been said already.

Love Tag: I kinda see where the Buono! comparisons come in. Apparently one of the ladies doing backing vocals for this is a huge Buono! fan, she tweeted her appreciation to be allowed to work with a Buono! member (@ma_sa_mi_nn). In addition to the slight Buono! vibes I'm also getting a bit of Nishino Kana in her more uplifting songs. One of my favorite tracks, I can see myself getting ready in the morning listening to this.

Route Sixteen: If I expected any song to have slight rock tendencies, from the title I would've expected it to be this but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's not the most outstanding song but I think it's a really enjoyable song that will make you lowkey groove to it when it comes on. The instrumentals sound a bit like a western pop song.

Sapuri: Another song from their live, while I do enjoy it a lot I also think it's one if the weaker songs on the album. I do like that line about being together with the members, very cute.

Bukiyou na Jibun: I don't have much to say that hasn't been said (let me repeat this though: Hikaru is a STAR). I think the lyrics are really relatable, so combined with the sift melody this song really moved me.

TOUGH GIRL: I expected this song to be another edgy number like etcetera but it seems all my expectations are wrong. I really like Nihei's parts here and I love the message of the song. I'm really curious to see this one performed live. The instrumental is a lot at times so I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone prone to headaches lol. Kinda reminds me of 8bit retro game music.

Sing to the sky: They changed the instrumental a bit from Platinum's original which I originally had my doubts about but esoedially the last chorus is actually really great like this. I really like the sort of fresh (not like idol fresh but fresh air fresh) sound of this, it's really pleasant.

true love. : I also got a Christmas feeling from this... probably the bells and choir-esque background vocals... Maybe they meant to release it with Sweet Girl's Night as a single but something got in the way? I don't think they meant to release this album earlier since they had half the songs ready this february, that would be a looong gap for a changed schedule. As confused as I am I actually really dig this song and think I'll listen to it tons in 6 months hahahaha

SGN: Well, I do love this song but I would've rather had a new one obviously, especially since this is a summer release but oh well. Shalalala shalalala

They did a good job on that performance but really, that song really needs a choreography or just some kind of little show going on to make it more interesting.

 

I haven't been able to listen to the album yet so I can't talk about it (my internet's been really sucky lately...) but, reading that the songs are not as cheerful and cute as the one's in crescendo, I'm curious about what will be my thoughts about it... Hm, but I can safely say that I really, REALLY like Etcetera (no kidding, please help me, I can't stop listening to it ), Sapuri is super cute and I love it too, SING to the SKY was very nice, I thought P.I.N.K was a cool song too and while I wasn't a big fan of Bukiyou at first, after listening to the studio version, reading the lyrics and seeing the video, I was moved by it and like it a lot now, so going by those songs I can say I like this album almost as much as crescendo so... yeah.

 

And well, I just discovered this pretty cool guitar cover of Etcetera on Youtube and I realized how awesome would it be if some day they pulled off a Buono! and had a live band. A rock version of Etcetera would be awesome, and after all °C-ute had that °Cocktail live and Berryz also performed Ai wa Itsumo Kimi no Naka ni with real instruments once instead of the instrumental so it would be cool if Pink Cres. did something similar.

Thanks a lot! My broke student self appreciates it, especially since my internet's been really sucking lately so downloading the torrent would have been very difficult.

 

Okay, gotta check out all the songs now.

 

Done. Okay, so what can I say? I love this album, it's super cuuuute and girly! Even more so than crescendo, the only exception being P.I.N.K and Etcetera which are 1) a super cool intro/theme song and 2) an even cooler song that has got me addicted for the past 3 days So... Nn, maybe yeah, this is overall not as strong as crescendo with all its variety but it's still a great album IMO! There's not a single song I dislike so... I don't mind that there isn't exactly any Kirei • Kawai • Mirai type of catchy cheerfulness but I think all the songs are catchy in another kind of way. I'm a happy fan, I only wish management did a better job at promoting Pink Cres.

Yeah, it sounds like Owl City kind of indie pop or something (not that that's a bad thing for me, I love Owl City).

My thoughts exactly, I'm glad they covered this song. This is like more Satoyama than any Satoyama song that has ever been released.

Yeah, I really wonder too, it even seems like some of the people in this forum who liked their first album didn't feel like commenting this time for some reason. Pink Cres. really deserves more credit

I finally had a chance to listen to the rest of the album. I think I liked their first album more overall, but besides the title track my favorites are "Love Tag" and "TOUGH GIRL".

The album reached #66 for the week (6/25 - 7/1)

I don't know how much it sold exactly, though. #50 for that week sold 1316 copies.

One user on 5ch said 1018 copies sold, not confirmed.
