^The regular trainees based in Tokyo have had releases before though, so having a single release doesn't exactly make them an established group  :)

I believe the trainee singles are just a way to give them some promotion and show what they are capable of, as the singles haven't been major ones and only sold in events, concerts, and such (iirc that is)

Fair enough, but we still can't rule out that H!P isn't starting them young, be it under an established group name or not, but as far as the Berryz / C-ute style group forming perhaps that era has been put to rest.

Hmmmm.... what about this group I just heard about called Watarasebashi 43?  A member as young as 8 is in it...

Many companies in Japan hire girls from 6-8 for small local idol groups, but that doesn't really mean H!P has to do it again. As far as I know, the managers/staff that works with H!P Kids felt that the project was a waste of money and time when they could've just kickstarted the Eggs program in the first place. Yes, it did give us the women we grew to love today but H!P better off focusing on the training programs they already have.
