Wow hopefully the movie boosts this, although it's still a month out, right? I was considering that it may have been competition, maybe the hardcore wota spent all their money on the graduation but now that Angerme look to be coming for a career high I got nothing. I didn't really want it to happen but I spy a group that is getting new members and maybe popular ones at that. That's like page 1 of this company's playbook to build hype.

They don't need more popular members? Any of the girls who are currently floating around without a group aren't more popular then Hama/Rei/Minami.
Angerme is also on a different level then Kobushi. Angerme (though the name change is the same age) has been around since 2009. That's 8 years to build up a fan base.
Ya'll stressing over nothing. These sales really aren't a huge drop. It feels like a bigger drop then it really is, but trust me they are fine.

The dance shot version of the music videos are on dailymotion and they are absolutely amazing (despite having bad resolution typical for dvds):
Ee ja naika Ninja naika (Dance Shot Version)
Shalala! Yareru Hazu sa (Dance Shot Version)
Those music videos reminded my, why Kobushi became my favourite group. It wasn't the songs that made me a fan, it was their energetic, emotional and skillful live performance !!
And those brilliant one-shot music videos strongly remind me of their live performances and the wonderful choreography can be seen very clearly.

Times will tell whether the group needs another members or not. Despite being low, the sales doesn't indicate anything negative. KF still has members whose talents haven't been fully used yet.

I was shocked by the sales numbers, I expected not so great sales but not this bad.
I gotta be brutally honest, this single is terrible. It has nothing of the Kobushi I grew to love and the songs are forgettable and generic. Even though the group has great members, the music has to be on a high level.
See what happened to J=J, they started with great music but the quality steadily decreased, their fanbase and popularity as well (They had a great spell with their album and Next U single/drama, etc but after that they went downhill again, and their last single is beyond awful)
Anyway, I think that fans want great music, it's not only about the idols. Specially with the Rio situation, Kobushi needs a great next single. Let's wait and see...

Kobushi sold at least 34k of their latest single in the first week. That's not horrible, but clearly less than any other H!P group sells currently (TF: 54k, CG: 57k, J=J: 62k, A: 63k, MM: 158k). Please do not mistake the "Oricon numbers" for a good representation of sold singles.
Their next single will hopefully be more successful (like the previous single).

It also doesn't help that's its been a year since their last single, and it's 90% tied in with JK ninja girls. ( I also wouldn't count CG and TF against the group since those singles has significance to them I.E Tsugunaga Momoko's last single, TF debut single those are all gonna drive sales more than normal.)

The JK Ninja thing was super corny and tacky. And the two main a-sides were both very ordinary pop songs without any true character or edge. As much as I like Shalala, it's NOWHERE near Samba or Chotto. You can't break a streak of spunky a-sides with something like this single and NOT expect mediocre sales.
As mentioned above, the same thing happened with J=J. Romance no Tochuu and Ijiwaru were stunningly perfect. And it's been a steady decline ever since whatever single came after Senobi... I think it was the boring disney sounding song.. Wonderful World..? I think. The throwback funk edge was what made them make such a strong first impression. Just like Kobushi's punchy/boisterous character. And it's nowhere to be found with this single. So I think it deserves the poor sales.
"Throwaway" songs shouldn't be a thing. Why spend money making them if they aren't gonna do well?
