STU48 (Setouchi48) is AKB's 5th official sister group. They are projected to debut in 2017. The group will have their own theater, located in a cruise. It will travel through the Yamaguchi, Hiroshima, Okayama, Hyogo, Tokushima, Kagawa and Ehime prefectures.

She passed the final round, but we will know for sure on March 19th when they announce the winners.

And we're not 100% sure it's her. The girl in the photoshoot looks like her, STU will operate close to where she lives and we know distance has been an issue for her in the past, and she mentioned STU once on her blog, but did not say she was auditioning. That's all we know.
It seems the results will be announced on March 19th, that's like a month from now... why so late D:

She only passed Kagawa second round so far, which is just one of few places for second round. Final round has not been done yet.

So they're doing different auditions in the different prefectures?

Well, it's all the same audition, just having 2nd round held in multiple places (all 7 prefectures the ship will sail through) and those who pass them will all be in the same final round.

 

18 girls passed 2nd round in Hiroshima, 15 in Yamaguchi, 13 in Kagawa and 17 in Ehime. On 25th we'll know how many will pass 2nd round from Hyogo and on 26th how many will pass from Okayama and Tokushima.

 

Final round with all that pass 2nd round being on March 19th.

For people coming here from Cuca's thread the reason there has been a little confusion about the auditions because 48G don't usually reveal anything about the auditions until they're over, not even a little shot like we've seen of the second rounds. This meant a few who didn't understand Japanese to spread the false information that it was already a set and done deal.

I'm really curious to see the upcoming other finalists because I think I know another girl who might be auditioning. She used to model and is incredibly cute, would be so awesome if she makes it.

She would need to not be part of another agency currently to be eligible tho. Contract would need to have ended at the end of January. Unless ASH related stuff doesn't count for that part, which is possible considering the case of Himetan.

Yeah, my guess is that they consider the SPL∞ASH members as students since they are managed by ASH, a performing arts school.
