-sigh- Giganto Senbatsu and sister group Senbatsu b-sides. Meh. I hope the duet with Mayuyu and Yukirin is good as that's the only song I remotely care about besides Kojiharu's graduation song.

Im very happy about Miorin! Tomu also made it which was overdue. MaYuki song was also overdue and Im hyped.

Someone on the LINE chat said Mion will be center for the Sakamichi song, but I cant find confirmation about it.

I wonder who will center this after Kojiharu is gone. Mion already took over High Tension. Id like this one to be for Naachan, Mako or Komiharu

Kind of annoyed they've stuck themselves with this "graduate gets centre if they were popular" thing but I guess it's much easier to airdrop an upcoming girl into a centre position that a graduate had than taking the risk on a single release. Happy for Shiichan making it, I guess the kouhaku ranking top 16 helped a bit with this selection(with Miorin, Yoshida Akari and they even let Suda Akari into senbatsu, I swear akb48 management hate her) Very glad for Tomu! Long overdue. I hope she's not just a passing glance in the song too, she should be in the TV lineup really.

Far too many girls in senbatsu, in particular from sister groups, and no Yuirii - yet again. Can't say I find this very interesting.

 

Also, when Nogizaka46/Keyakizaka46 unit was announced, fan reaction at event sounded very disappointed/upset...

I think I got to face reality .. having this amount of senbatsu is the only way Rara can get in ..
I know she'll be lucky to get a second out of it .. but its still better than nothing ..
So I am happy

Not really happy with the Sakamichi inclusion.... I prefer them to stay separate tbh. The girls included were expected though, The two centers of the new single + the members beside them for Nogi, then the ace of kanji, ace of hiragana, captain and co-captain for Keyaki. Including the girls from 48G, this is pretty much just the 48/6 elite lmao 

 

As for the senbatsu, YASSS TO NMB WITH 5 MEMBERS LOL. Many of times they have been the group to get the least amount of members in a huge senbatsu, but now they're doing well with 5, i couldn't be happier for them. I feel bad for SKE though..............but FYEAH MIORIN LMAO! 

 

Also feeling a little bad for AKB members, chances are the AKB song will be senbatsu AKB members only, so about 80% of AKB members wont actually be included in this single at all :/

So I'm confused. Is Kojiharu's graduation postponed?? She's having a grad concert at Yoyogi the 22nd, and then the original date for her final live was set the day after. But I guess since this single is announced...

I mean don't get me wrong. I wanted her to have a final single to center. But this is crazy.

I recall Kojiharu saying she didn't want a prolonged grad like Takamina, but look what's happening

 

And again, no team songs. Minaeshi beat me to it by saying it. But without the team songs, most of AKB members won't even be on this single if the AKB senbatsu is regular senbatsu.

Of course it hasn't been announced yet, but jeez...doesn't management care for the other members?

 

I hope the songs change my mind about this single.

If they did, they would consider them when it comes to an AKB48 single release. That is the ONLY place of opportunity that they have, whereas sister group girls have their own group as well as AKB48 to reach for. 

 

AKB48 girls that aren't glued to a permanent senbatsu position no matter what they do, has a far bigger hurdle to get over than the other girls.

 

It's for this reason that it annoys me so much to see the same-old same-old happen over and over with AKB48 singles for so long now. They have potential for doing so much more, but management just can't...

Firstly .. i would admit that I don't know much anymore ..
I am just hanging on with a small group of girls that I like and I am getting bits of info from mainly here and some friends who are still hardcore fans

The question is ..
Is this an "AKB48" group single or is this an "AKB48 Group" single?

I really dunno what to think anymore .. maybe I am still hanging on to the past .. the "good old days" ..the 2011-2013 when AKB48 wins everything and everything they touch turn to gold ..
I mean in the past I do support them using sister members but that was because there were only SKE48 and at most NMB48 just came about ..
AKB48 only had 3 teams and was really structured towards 48 members .. and for the sister groups SKE48 and NMB48 .. not all the teams are up yet .. the sister groups are like only 60% to 30% filled ..
If you look at it then .. with SKE48 and even NMB48 .. they are still have good majority and anyway .. the group is basically lead by 7-8 elite members which give some space to push upcoming members ..

Since then AKB48 have expanded with team 4 and team 8 .. and the sisters have expanded too with SKE48, NMB48, HKT48 all maxing out their teams and NGT48 still at the starting stage and a new 48 group on a boat or something ?
That's too many of them to care about and think about ..
I think they want to keep the tradition of them placing the sisters in and at the same time push a new generation of AKB48 members ..
So it is hard to balance everything so in the end this is what we got.. 30+ to 40+ member senbatsu ..
I feel that having so many senbatsu members create their own problems too ..
Do they do a focus on the few and leave the rest as background which would make the purpose of having the rest of them useless ..
or do they just spread it on everyone which will make everything so blend that there is no real focus at all?

For this single as it is a Kojiharu graduation single .. it should be mostly about her and those very elite or seniors who will be close to her that would be the focus ..
I think the rest of the girls who are up and coming or juniors would basically be non existent ..
I think they are there just to fill up stuff that is in relation to the single like goods in relation to the single and also maybe just to promote the idea of the success of the other girls ..

So I think it is more or less restricted to what this single is about ..pushing new comer AKB48 ain't going to work much since it is a graduation single ..

The way management is going about AKB singles is just a complete mess, but it has been since the time Acchan left to be honest, so i'm not even surprised anymore. I just hope that one day they realize that going "back to basics" and having the AKB only members in AKB singles, and sister group members in their own sister group singles, will bring benefits for both akb and the sister groups sales, even if it means not reaching the million mark for a year or two while they do it (but mgmt will never do this lol)

13 girls from AKB48 and 8 from sister groups at 2 a piece would make 21nin regular Senbatsu. They could use the same set-up for b-sides. I really don't understand what they're thinking with AKB48 singles anymore.

^ Nogizaka46 and Keyakizaka46 are called the Sakamichi Group (well, Sakamichi Series technically). It's the *46 equivalent to "48 Group". It comes from the "saka" (zaka) kanji in both of their names.

I didn't know that too .. kind of cool that they can come up with the name from the zaka in both their name instead of just using the 46 ..
But of course it would be a bummer if they get a group without the zaka name in it .. but then again they could still use it as it provide a history kind of importance

Btw I don't know how much Japanese you know but it's not just having "zaka" in the name as such, but saka means "slope" like the slope in their logo. Michi means road. So they're the "sloped road" series(although in English we'd usually shorten that to just slope as road is implied). Btw in Roppongi there's a slope with "keyaki"(zelkova) trees on it. Nogizaka comes from the building where sony record label is based.

Well...that wasn't what I was expecting for Kojiharu's final single It reminds me a little with Halloween Night (are those the outfits for the single??). Hmm I guess I have to listen to it a lot for now.
