Dance cover of Brand New Morning;

I like the editing, dance style and dedication in it.

I'm really bad at following dance choreos and all but I did this for kicks and except for some parts the dance is fairly easy. Ignoring coordinating with other people ofc.
Also I've read in tumblr some comments saying that Eripon got that line in BNM because Maa-chan wasn't in this single...IA it's possible Miki got more lines because of this (I think she would have sang the rap of JJ in any case though), but I think Eripon would have that line anyway. I felt that part was mirroring the first part, 13ki/9ki(leader/sub). Just...wanted to say that lol.

I wonder what the actual sales are with the fan inflation? Definitely over 100k. I'm really impressed to see over 80k with all the new Oricon rules! Those are great numbers.

 

Also, the staying power for this is good. I remember when MoMusu would sell 100k+ but fall out of the top 30 in the second week. This is the fourth week and they're still there!

I love this single! I really like how even the line distribution is, how pretty much all the girls get mostly even spotlight, I really like Jealousy Jealousy's lyrics, I love Fukuhime's singing (and Miki!), and even the rapping is fun. I think these two singles really utilized the strengths of the current girls -- which is largely their energy imo.   No wonder the songs' got such good staying power--they're such fun, infectious singles. I hope they continue to be this way!

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) officially announced Morning Musume. '17's 63rd single "BRAND NEW MORNING / Jealousy Jealousy" is Gold Disc certified.
Their 14th consecutive Gold Disc in a row (50th single ~ 63rd single). Fukumura Mizuki's sixth as leader.

Oricon only show you what they believe to (mostly) be genuine sales, showing the actual popularity of artists, hence MM not getting over 100k. I would assume that RIAJ take the sales at face value (as in they don't care whether its bulk buying wota tactics or not), a sale is a sale.

RIAJ doesn't track sales at all. They track the number of units shipped by the distributor (the record labels) to retailers. A gold record means that 100,000 units were shipped to retailers and kept in stock (i.e. not returned to the distributor, which is what happens when more CDs are shipped than the retailer feels they can sell). It is not reflective of any point of purchase figure given by Oricon, Soundscan, or Billboard, nor does it rely on any of those sources. Their numbers come straight from distributors, who also don't know hard sales data, just distribution.
