That is Oricon's number. Billboard/Soundscan number not much different for this single.

^Hey Krusha, quick question for you, do you perhaps have the first weekly figures for this single from Oricon and Soundscan?

Oricon 1st week 1,180,047

Billboard (Soundscan) 1st week should be 1,438,469 http://www.billboard.../detail/44604/2

^Thanks. Now testing a theory.

1,180,047 + 1,438,469 / 2 = 1,309,258

Total reported sales across both chart sources is a whooping 2,618,516 which is hardly realistic. Taking out half seems about right for determining a real figure that takes into account the myth about most idol sales coming from bulk buying. With this we have AKB as per usual selling over a million copies. Situation the same as before any rule changes even when averaging the official reported sales tallies.

If this is used on MM's 62nd single sales do you think people will stop spewing conspiracy theories that Aki-p and pals have struck a deal with Oricon to keep reporting million+ sales for AKB or would I be wasting my time as always?

The people spewing conspiracies are just too ignorant to even actually look at AKB so there's no point trying IMO.

You don't actually combine 1.18M + 1.43M...........

You report 1.18M as sales from Oricon, and 1.43M from Billboard. That's all there is to it.

^Well those already exist, but outside of AKB's sales a lot of idol group fans seem to be panicking right now about Oricon's rules meaning less than ideal numbers. For example the MM fans who are mostly going "oh hey, the Oricon daily is under 100k in fact its all the way down in the 60k range that can't be the real number so the Soundscan figure of 128k must be for real" even though both could be flat out wrong. I wanted to give them a way to come up with figures for any group that might ease their peace of mind and stop the conspiracy theories about AKB and the Johnny's Entertainment or otherwise seemingly unaffected male juggernauts. It's just a third estimated figure to work with for those who might actually need them to see some semblance of reality. If one is too high to be legitimately real and one is too low for their personal gratifications why not have them feed themselves a number that's the average of both? Additionally I want to impose the question on them of why is Oricon suddenly such an uncredible source for them, if it's just because they're not reporting their so sought after 100k+ figures for MM anymore they're just going to make themselves look like a bunch of bratty preschoolers going forward. If their current behavior about the matter persists in the 63rd single thread when that rolls around I just might impose that question.

20 20 Sakura no Ki ni Narou 942,479
21 42 Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby 905,490

If you don't count senbatsu election voting single ..
This is the 10th best singles sales they ever had for week one
If you don't count senbatsu result single ..
This is the 6th best singles sales they ever had for week one
If you only count "autumn" single
This is the 3rd best singles sales they ever had for week one

I really don't think the result is affected much by the new Oricon rule ..
Maybe Tsubasa wa Iranai is affected as they release on the day the new rule came into effect ..
But I think they would have tweak it by now and the effect should be minimum ..

Basically .. what really don't add up is .. if you add like 200K sales to it as an estimated lost sales by the new rule ..
It would be their best selling single of all time not counting senbatsu election voting single .. so its not that reasonable to me ..

Actually I bought this single ..
This is the first single I bought from AKB48 that is not a senbatsu election voting single in years ..

I really like Osaekirenai Shoudou the Waiting Circle song
Furthermore .. all 3 AKB48 girls whom I like are in the Waiting Circle...
I still can't select the one from the 3 of them .. Omegu, Hiiwatan (I just found out they changed nickname)and Moekyun
Maybe I let destiny decide .. so when I get the CD .. and if bonus photo I got is one of the 3 .. then she may be the one :D

I got limited cash in recent time so I only got 1 .. I choose the one with the 9th gen song ..
For me 9th gen is the gen that I started with .. they are my special gen ..
Overall I find many of the other songs really nice too ..

Recently .. I think since LOVE TRIP .. I find that AKB48 are doing songs that I like again ..
Or I find the songs good again .. the creatively seem to be flowing again ..
It no longer look like they are doing a single for the sake of doing a single and just dish out bigger budget than other group to show their might ..

Ok .. that's my opinion .. :)
But I really like the new AKB48 content nowadays :)
