The album debuted at 5th place on the Oricon chart - much better that I expected.

I stumbled across this group last night when on CDJapan... omg. Their 教歌SHOCK! music video is the cutest thing since Crayon Pop.
I just ordered some of their CDs, including the 24-track debut. Good times.

"Magical View" is my #1 pick for "Album Of The Year".
Their recent music videos aren't nearly as good as the first 2 though
教歌SHOCK! was incredible

#1 pick is tough considering in the last month I've discovered Fairies, OnePixcel and now Rock A Japonica lol. I haven't even received "Magical View" in the mail yet, but of the 3 OnePixcel is standing out the most for me, but that could change.
As for their recent videos, I think "My Map" is a rather sweet one actually. Of course it's no 教歌SHOCK!, but better for them to move forward that rehash the same formula. Actually the "My Map" song (わたしの地図) reminds me of what the group 9nine sounded like in their early days.

Kyouka Shock set a very high bar for any singles to follow, and unfortunately they don't quite live up to it. There was clearly a lot of effort put into the Dakedo Yume Miru MV, but unfortunately it didn't come across that way, since the frequent static shots of the members just made it seem kind of dead overall. Past that, they haven't released another formal single, and so I don't feel like there was much put into the promo MVs besides "look they are at school." That and the heights thing that really freaked me out, so I couldn't have enjoyed Watashi no Chizu anyway.
I haven't listened to the album in full yet, so I can't rank it against anything else, but it was a nice gesture to include all of the past b-sides on the second disc.

^ by "heights thing" do you mean them standing on top of the gym risers?
(you're certainly right about a high standard w/ 教歌SHOCK! omg that video... lol)

It was probably CGI-involved to keep them safe, would that help?
Sorry to hear that. Yet I agree with your assessment but am rather forgiving. Once I'm sold on a group it'll take a while before I give up. I haven't listened to the full 2CD set yet myself but I'm hopeful.
