^ As far as I understood she was talking about how she's looking up to Sakura and to her (Ayaka), and that Reina went all like "Hirose-san~" when they first met, which made her really happy. And then she mentioned that Reina is in high school, and that she was surprised about it (Miyabi too), because she haves this little sister image/aura/character (whatever you want to call it) - which Miya agrees to.

I read somewhere (Ayaka's blog?) that she was holding the door open for Reina, and she was all like: "Thank you! I love you!" lmao

This doesn't has anything to do with the video, but I thought it reminded me of this, and I thought it was super cute. I like it when girls are quick to show the girls they look up to how much they love them (like Akane to Haruka)

I kind of remember that it's normal that nem members don't get immediately birthday events after joining is this possible or do I remember wrong? I kind of remember it being the same for previous generations?

At least for Maa-chan I think 10th gen joined at the end of 2011 but her first birthday event was 2013. I'm too lazy to look it up for the other members but I gues it makes sense out of a lot of different reasons.

^ Ah, I see. I'm bad at remembering things like this, so thanks. I was almost sure they wouldn't do one, but I had some hope left. It's a shame, but understandable. 

I hope she gets one next year, and I am really looking forward to the 13ki Event~

Momusu Ishida ・ Kaga ・ Yokoyama Challenge to Michishige New Year Interview

To celebrate the 20th year since forming, we’ll be presenting this exclusive new year interview with Morning Musume ‘17’s Ishida Ayumi (19) and the newly joined Kaga Kaede (17) and Yokoyama Reina (15). We’ll talk about the 13 member line-up and the continued evolution of the group. Ishida Ayumi shares her views on “This year we could have a world tour!”, and the declaration that “We won’t lose!” to the spring return to the entertainment world of senior Michishige Sayumi (27). The two new members also enthusiastically show off their freshness in this newspaper.

Kaga-san, Yokoyama-san, you were both announced as new members at last year’s Budokan performance (December 12th). How did you feel when you saw the performance?

Kaga: During the solo song medley, my seniors expressions were amazing. It was cool that they could express the atmosphere of the song. That isn’t something I can do at all yet, I’m happy I got to study a lot. In a good sense I thought “Don’t steal it”.

Yokoyama: I haven’t lost focus since the rehearsals. I’m not able to do expressions at all either, but with the audience I did it at full power. There are many kinds of smiles, so I think that “facial expressions” are important so I want to imitate them.

What is Ishida-san’s impression of her juniors?

Ishida: I compared myself from when I joined to the two of them. When it was me, my hand was trembling as I held the mic and I wasn’t sure when the timing was of when to speak. Reflecting on it now is horrible (laughs). With that, the two of them were calm (laughs). You gave your self-introductions, as I was standing on stage I asked “What do you think of me?” but you were able to answer such an unreasonable question without a script. 

How did the two of you feel about Ishida-san’s unreasonable question?

Kaga & Yokoyama: She was impatient~! 

“Absolute Leader” Michishige Sayumi-san has announced her rebirth in the spring.

Ishida: When I heard the news I was insanely happy~. It has the feeling of welcoming her home. Also, Michishige-san declared that she was going to challenge a new form. She’s always doing things her own way. I’m really looking forward to the “Michishige Sayumi” that we will see this time. 

She’ll be like a rival.

Ishida: Thats right~. Speaking of that, Michishige-san took a two year rest period. We’ve had various location experiences, we’ve worked so hard that we have confidence. So, on the contrary I want to show us off! We won’t lose~.

The two of you in the 13th generation, please tell us your ambitions.

Kaga: With us joining, I’m a little uneasy about shaking up the current group performances, I feel like I must do even more. I’d like to do my best so the 13th generation can advance in a good direction.

Yokoyama: I’ve thought a lot “This group is really close. I also want to enter the circle quickly,”. It’s difficult but, with us entering, I want to make it so the performance level doesn’t drop. 

What will the 20th year of “Morning Musume ‘17” be like?

Ishida: The relationships with the members in ‘16 was our specialty; we came to understand our strengths, and became strong as a group. Therefore, it feels like ‘17 will be going full throttle all of a sudden! Last year we had concerts in Houston, Taiwan, and South Korea, so this year the members have talked that we’d think it’d be nice to do a “world tour”. I think it’d be nice to relay my thanks through a performance to the world. 

 

☆Ishida Ayumi = Born January 7th 1997. Hometown Miyagi Prefecture. Blood Type O. Nicknames are “Daishi” and “Ayumin” from those who like her. Image Color Blue. Joined Morning Musume on September of 2011 as the 10th Generation. Her speciality is her sharp dancing. Has a column in the popular serialization on Tokyo Sports Site “Tokyo Sports Entertainment” called “Hello Pro Plus Love Ishida Ayumi Editorial ~I’ll teach you about myself!~”, this year will be her 3rd year of it.

☆Kaga Kaede = Born November 30th 1999. Hometown Tokyo. Her specialty is playing the trumpet and kendo. Was in Hello! Project Kenshuusei since November 2012, was in her training period for about 4 years, on December 12th 2016 joined as a 13th generation member.

☆Yokoyama Reina = Born February 22nd 2001. Hometown Saitama Prefecture. Her experience in Hello! Project Kenshuusei was for about three months as she joined a group at an unusual speed. Her specialty is playing the alto saxophone, in her 2nd year of middle school took part in a nationwide competition as a part of her Brass Band Club.
