I'm curious if anyone else here is into Crayon Pop. No, they're not Japanese, and by H!P standards they would be considered old or 'graduated' but they are such an amazing Kpop act - I love them.
They toured Japan earlier this year. The crowd had already adapted a chant to their songs

"Masaki loves all music made by Tsunku-san. Every single note and word stabs me right in my soul! I mean it in a good way!" (translated by Ronin - thanks!)
^ An awesome release indeed! That "mini album" is slight departure of their signature popular sound and it's actually refreshing. "1, 2, 3, 4" (which really should be titled "Missing You") is such a beautiful song. LOVE Crayon Pop!!
I've been looking around for a signed copy. Lol but I don't have much money. And yeah, a very refreshing sound

^ thanks - apparently I excel at starting posts in wrong places here -.-
Am I the only one who finds the sub-divisions here confusing?
Feel free to move this thread, if possible. Thanks.
There's nothing confusing if you spend a little bit of time and read the forum descriptions. For example the description of this forum is "J-Pop, J-Rock, J-Urban and any other kinds of Asian music". So there should be no way for you to be confused about it.
I moved it here because it was in the wrong forum. I made "Asian music" bold for emphasis for why this was the right forum and why there's nothing confusing about the forum divisions.
I have Crayon Pop "The Street Go Disco" CD, which is really great. I started listening them, when they released BarBarBar and immediately liked happy vibe of their music. Dancing Queen is prolly my favorite song of them. Good that they still have that cheery image, instead turning oversexy like most k-pop groups.
Yes - they are embracing the cutesy girl look for as long as they can, and compared to most H!P groups here, they are incredibly OLD lol. I think mid 20s.
Dancing Queen is awesome but I'm quite biased to it because of that awesome high kick dance move in the video. It all just works so well.
You should definitely check out more of their stuff. "FM" is great, but my favorite song/video combo since Bar Bar Bar is easily this:
Was wondering about Crayon Pop today so I looked them up for updates.
Their latest appearance was at a Taiwanese music award. [2017-05-27] Golden Feather Award. They performed DooDoomChit and BarBarBar.
Unconfirmed: Reading the comments, seems they will continue as a 4 member group. If that is true I am glad they will continue. They are the only K-pop group I like. Actually I feel they are more J-pop than K-pop.

The members do Instagram live it seems. The channel owner uploads the videos. Here is Gummi's first and only live so far dated 2017-06-17. Just my luck that my fav is not into live streams
Checkout that channel for more Crayon Pop content.

Yes, one of their members (Soyul) recently got married so she left the group. Thanks for the first vid though, I had thought they disbanded.

I love Crayon Pop more than any Jpop group (my collection of their stuff is insane) but sadly it was a short-lived window where they were perfect. With their most recent album being rather mediocre and over-polished sounding and Soyul leaving I feel their run is over. Lightning in a bottle for several years and boy was that lightning bright!
As for Kpop there are a few groups l like (K.A.R.A., Big Bang) but I don't follow them as closely as I do Hello!Project, which as you know is a full time job in itself
