Good article of woman's role in Japanese history.  EDIT:  The original story of Onna-bugeisha has been taken down.  Here is more info from Wiki:  https://en.wikipedia.../Onna-bugeisha
More photos of 19th century female warriors are on page 3.

Nope.  No else has replied except KawaiiLand.   That's okay.  The article was about ancient female warriors, not anything to do with H!P.

The photos you posted of Nacky are from a play, or a ceremony, °C-ute members participated in maybe a year ago.  I have causally looked for them, but now I feel like I am on a mission.

For what it's worth, I have a Hello!Channel DVD that contains some weaponry with H!P girls.

First there's this clip I uploaded to share of Miyabi Natsuyaki, Risa Aragaki and Maimi Yajima training.

There's a rather lengthy photo shoot with the s/mileage girls too in ancient Samurai garb.  Here are some snapshots:

^   Great stuff hanapowun!!!  Watching Maimi, Risa, and Miyabi take sword lessons brought back good memories for me.  I was in a sword fighting club for four years.  Sometimes I wish I had never stopped.  Thank you!

I didn't realize you have to watch it on YouTube.  Just follow the link to Youtube and check it out.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Dude... I've only watched the first 5 minutes and I'm hooked.  This is very cool - never knew there were female samurai.  I look forward to finishing this documentary.

Ok, finished it.  Very interesting.  My only issue is how do they really know so many details?  Obviously they had to invent stuff to make it a narrative but I just wonder how much of it is true.

I am glad you liked it!!  Now you know about as much on female Samurai as I do.   How they dug up all this history I don't know. Maybe it is like first hand accounts of Custer's Last Stand at the Little Big Horn.  Historians didn't want to record what the Native Americans had to say until much later.

It would be fun to learn more about it.   One thing I do know is females were always called into service as archers.  That may account for so many females skeletons found on ancient battlefields.

Another little known topic is ancient Christians were in Japan during the 9th and 10th centuries.  That, however, is another topic for another thread.    I don't know if Hello! Online moderators and management would allow me to discuss that.

I've been watching Yahoo Auctions like a hawk. The trick was multiple search methods since they're all listed differently, including with Japanese text.

Cool.  I have to get back into searching for bargains, too.  There was this guy from Japan who would get you pretty much anything you wanted on eBay.  Beginning with my first purchase, I tried to communicate with him in the Japanese tradition, instead of my American casual style.  To show his appreciation, he discounted all my purchases!  I need to look him back up!

Here is a quick search for °C-ute Summer Wind
