This is audition is called the "Morning Musume. '16 Shinseiki Audition" 新世紀オーディション (New Century/New Beginning Audition).

Hello! Base reported on Twitter that that girls from ages 10-17 are able to audition.

I just thought how nice it would be to not have new members all the time.

 

Though I guess this was to be expected.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAT??? I kind of hope if it is true it's only 1-2 new members. If the group gets too large it'll be hard to focus on all of the members.

I'm sure this time they'll look for the ace factor for the new members.

I kind of want 2nin generation.. Hoping they'll avoid another 4nin gen..

1nin will put too much pressure on the new member while 4nin gen will be too comfortable..

2nin is nice as this will put some rivalry among the new members..

 

For some reason I don't feel any current KKS that'll fit in current MM..

I know some of you will definitely say Kaede or Ruru are good choice.. but for me, they just dont look idolish for me..

Yup they are really talented but I'm just not sure if they can be the face of the group..

 

Hopefully this new audition will push the 12th gen a bit..

they look so comfortable with their position in group.. Not so much rivalry came from them..

I could felt some rivalry when 9th & 10th gen first joined but not with 12th gen..

 

This is just my opinion though..

2nin would be great but I'm pretty sure they'll only add one member. They can't add too many this time because they'll run out of colours.

I think Harunan is going to graduate by the end of the year..

& maybe another surprise graduation which I definitely do not want cuz it's bad for my heart..

So I think 2nin is nice.. 1nin is good too as long as she's super good & can handle the pressure..

But I definitely do not want more than 3nin..

I'm not very surprised and I think the timing is just fine. Lately auditions have taken forever. Last year I forgot about the Angerme audition all the time because of the lack of updstes. So it may feel sudden now, but we'll probably get a few singles with this lineup. If 13ki get a few months of training like 12ki they could even debut in '17 for all we know.
Still, personally I really like this lineup right now and thought they could handle the Riho loss. A few more ace-less singles would have been nice before they bring a new one in.

why auditioning so early???  what are they looking for? i love auditions but this seems early. unless , i hope it isn't true, more graduations are coming. I wonder what colors will they use for the new members.

They always seem to announce auditions after graduations so I'm not shocked by this. I do miss Riho but I am very excited to see some new faces and talent!

Honestly. I can see them doing another 4nin gen. It'll be just like 2003.

12 members, 4 join & they sit out a single or two until one more graduates, then there's a lineup with 15 for the next single.

BUT i can also see them being like "Morning Musume '16 and their 16 members!!" and doing a single or two with 16nin LOL
The audition dates aren't even out yet though, but it could be months and months before we get audition winners.

I'm guessing they'll join in August?
But yeah basically this garuntees another graduation in the near future.

However, if it were up to me it'd be cool to see a 2nin gen. I don't believe we've ever had that before?

I guess you can kind of count JunLin but they're technically 8th gen which Aika was also part of.

For some reason a solo gen wouldn't feel right. Not this soon anyway. I really like the "every 4 generations there's a solo gen" thing they got going on lol

Of course they are looking for a new ace since Riho is graduated.

But I really wish they pay attention to the other members first, especially 12ki.

 

I think it will be one member to join since they have too many members (unless they want to break the record of 15-nin)

2-nin is nice too. iirc, MM doesn't have 2-nin winner in the history of auditon, right? I mean in generation. Correct me if I'm wrong.

OMG, it sounds great! MM'16 with 16 members.

I think we can remember that lineup if it ever happens like MM'15 with each generations' members are complete. (I don't know how to phrase that. LOL!)

As for colors, they could use red (obviously), pastel blue, gold, darker shades of blue and red like navy and maroon or burgundy... UHHH... yep.
