Because I'm obsessed with this game right now

It's been out for a few months now, the general gist of it is you're a kid now you're a squid now  it's an online multiplayer shooter in the vein of team fortress 2, where you play as an "inkling", somewhat of a humanoid/squid hybrid, and you compete in "turf wars", where you mark as much territory as possible with your team's ink. There's also ranked mode where you compete in specific challenges (tower control (where you must ride a tower  to the opposing team's base, making sure they don't gain control of it in the process), splat zones (similar to turf war, there is one or more specific parts of the map you must keep inked for a certain period of time), and rainmaker (sort of like capture the flag, you must carry a golden fish (that also acts as a weapon) to the opposing team's base). Then there's Hero mode, which is the single-player campaign, where you must reclaim the zapfish that have been taken by the Octoling community. Overall, it's a very cute, fun and addicting game!

 

It gets regular free updates of maps, weapons and clothing (as of posting this just yesterday a new map was added) and there's also three amiibo figures currently available that you can buy that'll allow you to unlock more clothes, weapons and minigames. Also just yesterday it won Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer at the game awards!

SPLATOON IS LOVE!!! 

 

No, seriously, this is one of the best games out there now. With the different weapons and levels and the fact that you just have to "trust" your randomly picked teammates (although you can put teams together with the people you befriend); it adds another level to this genre. 

 

Right now, I have the Aerospray RG (weapon of choice for ranked battles). But, I like to try all the different weapons. I'm not the type to just stick with one weapon. I will try to work towards mastery; but, I want to at least have a feel for all the weapons so I know the strengths and weaknesses so that I can counter them when I see someone else use them. 

 

For instance, I hated the Slosher and the Brushes. I thought they were weapons for the lazy people who didn't want to learn how to aim and shoot their weapons. But after using them a couple times, I've actually come to like the Slosher.........I'm still not sold on any of the Brushes; but I know how to deal with them on the map. 

 

There is one type of weapon that I have not yet even come close to mastering......The Chargers. I just suck at the chargers. And the fact that I'm at a higher level doesn't help my team. I'm pretty sure that they are expecting me to do well; but when I have a charger (any kind of charger), I'm just flat out horrible.

I'm using the .52 gallon thing right now and it's working for me pretty well. I'm only at level 12 right now and I'm still trying to get the feel of how things work.

I suck at the chargers too! I'm trying to use the scopes atm, and I'm improving, but I still can't manage it. 

I like to try out every weapon too, right now my main weapon is the Krak-on-Splat roller for Turf Wars and either the inkbrush or .96 Gal Deco for Ranked matches.

Wow I got this game back in June because my daughter begged me to buy it. Though ever since then this has become a great addiction!  I've must have played at least 600 hours on it to the point that all of my hobbies sort of took a back seat. How Sad!!  Even now I want to go play!

 

Now I am a pretty decent player at FPS games on the PC but for some reason I am just terrible at aiming on the Wii U, so yea I am one of the lazy people that just use the Brush haha!  And the reason why I never play ranked mode because I would probably spend most of my time respawning. Though I find creative ways to help my team's dynamic on turf wars.   What's also cool about it is that when I play it is mostly Japanese players and I get good practice trying to read their display names in hiragana.

I hope any of the japanese users on this forum will remember their H!P loyalties for their upcoming splatfest and choose NAISU BODY

 

I think The N-Zap '89 is the best weapon for me. The sub weapons (sprinkler and inkstrike) are two of my favorites. Plus its a pretty powerful shot and it doesn't slow you down. I've considered going to the Aerospray RG because its a more powerful shot but it slows me down and I play very fast paced.

Ahh I haven't played Splatoon in a while

It's one of those games i'm really bad at but I enjoy it, so i'm kinda of glad there is no in game chat
